There are so many things other than Jesus that people go are finding comfort in these days – relationships, food, entertainment, and the list goes on. But the truth is that the only lasting kind comes from finding comfort in Christ.
What Does The Bible Say?
Here are ten Bible verses that provide comfort. Before reading through them become aware of how you are feeling. Then read these 10 verse and check back in with yourself.
- “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28
- “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18
- “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” – Psalm 23:4
- “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” – Revelation 21:4
- “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7
- “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:38-39
- “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” – Matthew 5:4
- “He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” – Psalm 91:4
- “The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my savior; in him my God, I will find protection. He is my shield, the strength of my life, and my stronghold.” – Psalm 18:2
