A classical musician shared his testimony of how Jesus encountered him through his friend’s simple faith.
Messed Up Classical Musician
The UK Regional Director of GOD TV, Fergus Scarfe, testifies how God encountered him. He shared on the GOD TV Together Podcast that he was a classical musician who gave his life to Jesus. Thirty years ago, he was living and working in the United States and was pursuing a career in classical music. Fergus played the viola and while pursuing that career, he felt he was a mess. But God did something that changed his life forever.
“There was a friend of mine in the orchestra; he just sit there and just flip through his bible, and he would take a pencil, and he would just underline…,” he recalled. During their coffee break, Fergus would notice his friend reading and underlining the Bible. Because he felt like his life was a mess, Fergus went to see his friend. He heard him say, “Well, Fergus, you just need to know Jesus.”

A Simple Faith
After hearing those words, Fergus’ life was greatly impacted by such simple faith. When he returned from an international music tour, he went to church with his friend. “I walked in this warehouse in Miami, and there were happy, smiling people of every color, age, denomination, language. And he led me in the sinner’s prayer, the welcome home prayer,” he shared.
Moreover, he admitted that he’d lived a sinner’s life. Aside from that, he also had a broken relationship with his parents, and he was determined to stop that cycle. He became serious about his faith to the point that he changed his career from a performer to an administrator. And while he was walking with God, he came across GOD TV and decided to support them. This was the first step to him becoming the UK Regional Director of GOD TV.
