Smiley Face
On the evening of July 16, a huge smiley face emoji was projected right across the St. Thomas’ Hospital. The lipstick-wearing smiley was projected over the famous Houses of Parliament building on the eve of World Emoji Day.
The 25-meters wide projection caught the eye of many passers-by and brought smiles to people’s faces.
“Seeing the smiley made me laugh,” one passerby commented on the scenery. “It’s also opposite a hospital, and you hope that people get to look out and see it – they probably need it. Hopefully, it will make them smile – we need more smiles right now.”

The goal of the project by Ciaté London was to spread positivity and joy to the public. As well as encourage them to smile often despite the tough situation we are all in right now.
“We’ve come into London tonight to project a giant smiley with a full makeover,” Ciaté London CEO and Founder Charlotte Knight said. “We’ve given the smiley lashes and lipstick to really come and celebrate positivity and encourage people to feel good.”
Amid the global pandemic that we are all facing right now, we all needed hope. As we fight our own battles, let us not forget that the Lord has showered us with His joy and that He has already won the victory for us. Let us cling to the hope in Jesus Christ and don’t forget to smile despite any circumstance.
“We really just want to celebrate and shine smiles all across London because you know what guys, we really need it right now,” she added.
