Tasha Layton Releases Christ-Centric Chart-Topping Singles Included In New Christmas Album

Christian artist Tasha Layton recently released her Christ-centric, chart-topping singles that are included in her new full-length Christmas album.

Tasha Layton wanted to deliver joy to her listeners and fans with her newly released Christmas full-length album titled, “This Is Christmas.” Three singles included in the album made it to the Billboard Top 50. These songs are, “Make It to Christmastime,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” and “Hang Up Your Stockin’.”

“I wanted people to feel joy because I think when the weight of the world comes against us and against our fate, joy is one of the first things to go,” Tasha said in a recent interview. “And so I wanted some worship on it, but I also wanted some fun songs on that, too, to bring some joy.”

He husband Keith Everette Smith produced the album. Aside from delivering joy to their listeners, they also wanted to share the spirit of giving during this Christmas season.

“I do have a song on the record that just came out called Giving Christmas Away,” she told Christian Headlines. “… And when you make that your focus of the holidays, whether it’s going and serving in a nursing home, or a soup kitchen or Operation Christmas Child or Angel Tree Project. … [and] trying to get you and your kids and your family in the spirit of giving rather than getting – I think that’s probably the best thing you could do. It really does fill you with such hope and faith when you give. I get so excited about giving gifts, just because of what it represents. And so Jesus is the greatest gift we ever got, I feel like that’s the best way to sort of capture that spirit of Christmas.”

Carrie Underwood’s First-Ever Christmas Album Made Complete With Christian Song ‘Hallelujah’

Carrie Underwood’s first-ever full-length Christmas album was made complete with the song “Hallelujah,” a Christian song.

On September 25, Carrie Underwood released her first-ever full-length Christmas album “My Gift” under Capitol Records Nashville. With all the unrest currently happening in the world, the album was Carrie’s “much-needed” creative escape from this season. The “American Idol” alum wants others to feel the same way too.

“I really hope when people listen to it, they’re like, ‘Oh, I needed this,’” she said in an interview.

Christmas Album “My Gift”

According to the 37-year-old artist, “My Gift” needed a Christian proclamation before it could be completed. That was when “Hallelujah” became a part of the album. The single was written by award-winning artist John Legend, Carrie then thought about featuring him in the single.

“I was deep into making the album, and this one kind of came in. He sent it to us kind of at the end. It was like, ‘Well, I love the song. I feel like this is a puzzle piece I didn’t know was missing. But now that I’ve heard it, I have to have it,'” Underwood said. “And so we just put the ask back, ‘Thank you for sending, do you want to sing a part with me too?'”

The album features other Christmas classic songs including “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “O Holy Night,” and “Silent Night.” In the song “Little Drummer Boy” for the album, Carrie’s 5-year-old song Isaiah Fisher made his debut in singing.

“I was in the booth with him and trying to get him to access all his little 5-year-old emotions, which he can totally do on his own,” Underwood said. “When I heard the song back with his sweet little voice on it, I was laughing and crying, and just so many emotions. I’m so proud of him.”
