A Christian YouTube vlogger shared her past struggle with her identity and mental illness before God healed and redeemed her.

Ashley Hetherington grew up in a Catholic family but she has never built a real relationship with Jesus Christ. During her teenage years, she struggled to find her purpose in life and her worth as a person. She held onto her achievements and other people’s opinions in her search to find her identity.
So she worked so hard to please the people around her. She became who they wanted her to be depending on who she was with. While she was on that journey, she also became curious about Jesus Christ. Thankfully, the Lord led her to read Rick Warren’s “Purpose Driven Life,” and that helped her find her purpose.

Ashley got to know Jesus Christ through the book despite not reading the Bible. Just as she was starting to get to know who Jesus is, a series of tragedies hit her life. She broke up with her boyfriend whom she was so in love with, her mother and father got divorced, and her grandmother died.
She was upset with God after her life started falling apart. But God met her in her brokenness.
“I remember just at that moment in the darkness, in the hopelessness I just felt God. I felt Him in the room with me just being like, ‘You’re gonna heal this time but you’re gonna heal with Me,'” she recalled.
Healing & Redemption
Ashley was also later diagnosed with OCD. It was a struggle for her to even just wake up in the morning. The Lord again met her there too and healed her. Today, she is now a Christian YouTube vlogger who inspires her over 170,000 followers to live a life that is pleasing to the Lord.
“There’s no way that by my own strength and by my own power I should be able to testify to His goodness right now. But like because of Him, He has done it all… He has provided everything He’s provided for this ministry, He’s provided for the healing of my mind, He’s provided for the healing of my heart. There are still things that I’m waiting for and guess what, our testimonies are never done.”
