A Christian vloger, Deborah, is sharing what to do when you don’t feel God.
Knowing God
God indeed makes things new– people, places, experiences, and even our mindset. Many testified that having a relationship with Him is the best.
“Choosing to fully prioritize Jesus again after having drifted away for a while has been the best decision I could have made this year,” Deborah shared. “I honestly cannot fully express how God has truly done above and beyond all I could have asked, thought, or imagined.”
“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us” (Ephesians 3:20, ESV).
Furthermore, Deborah said, “I got to experience that this truly is God’s heart for his children. His plans are far beyond anything we can plan ourselves. What a joy it is to know that we’re walking through life with the Creator of the universe, being fully immersed in His love and walking confidently in His presence.”
When You Don’t Feel God
It’s amazing to journey with God. But for many people who have walked with God, there were many times where they felt God was silent.

“If you’ve been walking with the Lord for long enough, you might know that there will be times where we feel His presence as close as ever. But what about the times where we don’t feel Him, what do we do? When the feeling fades, what do we do when we don’t feel God?” she said.
There will inevitably be ups and downs in our relationship with God, just like in any other relationship. But we must understand that we cannot base any relationship in life, including your relationship with God, on your emotions.
What To Do When You Don’t Feel God
“I came across some amazing advice not too long ago that said, “When you don’t feel God, go see something He created. Go read something He said, go do something He did, and speak like He’s listening,” Deborah shared. “God tells you that He will never leave you nor forsake you. Whether you feel Him right now or not, He is just there. Your feelings or the lack thereof are absolutely not a reflection of God’s love for you, His heart for you, or His presence in your life. Our faith will continually be tested because how else can we grow? Instead of letting the enemy get to us with his whispers when we don’t feel God, let’s stand firm to pass the test that we’ve been presented with.”
God as a Good Father
Furthermore, Deborah likened it to a father who is teaching his child to walk. “Our heavenly Father eagerly watches over us as any loving parent would when their kids are learning how to walk. There have to be times where a parent lets go of their child’s hand to allow them to find their balance themselves. How else will they learn how to stand firm? How else will they learn how to walk? Just because they’ve let go of their child’s hand for a moment does not mean that they’re not still just as close as they were before, ready to catch them if they fall. There is nothing you can do that will ever make God leave you. As humans we might be fickle but our God is steady as a rock. He never changes. So no matter how you feel today, whether you feel God or not, He is just right there beside you. Loving on you like the incredible Father that He is. So let’s not tie God’s closeness to our feelings,” she concluded.
