Colton Dixon’s New Song ‘Build A Boat’ Lands No. 1 On Billboard Christian Radio Chart

Colton Dixon’s song “Build A Boat” landed at number one on the Billboard Christian radio chart. The Christian singer never expected it and remarked, “God has just used this song.”

According to a report by Christian Headlines, Colton Dixon’s “Build A Boat” topped the Billboard Christian radio charts. It ranked first in the charts for ten weeks and “more than 45 weeks on the Hot Christian Songs chart.”

In an interview with Christian Headlines, the Christian singer-songwriter shared his heart about his song “Build A Boat,” topping the charts. He never expected it to happen since he simply “personally enjoyed” his music.

Trusting God In A Dry Season

The song’s lyrics spoke to many as it talked about trusting God and walking in faith even in a dry season. The song encourages listeners to surrender to God even when the situation seems uncontrollable and hopeless.

As the chorus of the song declares:

“I will build a boat in the sand where they say it never rains
I will stand up in faith, I’ll do anything it takes
With Your wind in my sails, Your love never fails or fades
I’ll build a boat in the desert place
And when the flood and the water starts to rise, yeah
I’ll ride the storm ’cause I got You by my side
With Your wind in my sails, Your love never fails or fades
I’ll build a boat, so let it rain”

The Song Speaking To People

Further, Colton shared how it gives him joy whenever he sees people connecting to the song when it’s played on his tour.

“When that song comes to our setlist, it’s like we have a front-row seat into what God has been doing and is doing in their lives,” he told Christian Headlines. “And it is just remarkable. A lot of people coming out to the shows, this song was their anthem in a dry season. It might still be. And it’s just so fun to sing with them, to believe with them during these shows. But to me, that’s the coolest part about what I do is seeing how God somehow uses me — a non-qualified person and uses a song to reach people. It’s amazing.”

As GOD TV previously reported, “Build A Boat” is a song birthed from his obedience to God and inspired by the story of Noah in the Bible.

New Phone Radio App Opens The Way For The Gospel

The Gospel has had a rather productive relationship with technology over the centuries! Consider the role of the printing press, the microphone, television, radio, and social media. It’s safe to say that many have heard and grown in faith thanks to such advancements.

That said, while these platforms have served the Gospel well, we now find ourselves in an age where Christian freedom of speech is losing its voice on many of these mediums under the label of political incorrectness, and even being labeled as intolerant hate speech.

How about that old adage then, “when one door closes, God opens a window!”

Enter an app called “Stationhead”, available for free on IOS, and will be out on Android in the new year. The app allows anyone to host their own live radio show right from their device, and broadcast globally.

While many have bravely ventured into the waters of online, streaming radio, there have been many stumbling blocks, including the issue of paying for music rights, making it unaffordable for many who want to start their faith broadcast.

Stationhead has worked around this issue by signing deals with Apple Music and Spotify music streaming services, meaning that stations on the app can play any song found on these music services without the burden of hefty royalties. If that’s not enough, the app also allows listeners to share live on the show, either by coming live on-air from their phone or by taking part in the chatbox.

Real community

The element of human connection and building a real community in a world of disconnection is proving to be a massive strength to the platform.

White House Hosts It’s First Faith Briefing For Christian Radio Broadcasters

Prayer and worship continue to echo through the corridors of the US White House these days. Officials hosting the first ever “Faith Briefing” with Christian radio broadcasters remarked there is positive change when Christian groups come to the White House.

Amanda Robbins and Jennifer Korn organized this special event saying, “The atmosphere changes.” They’re attributing this to the prayers of those present for the “Faith Briefings.” Faith Briefings are now an important part of the Trump administration.

Michael Tait of the Newsboys began this week’s Faith Briefing with Christian radio broadcasters singing some timeless hymns:

Christian radio still reaching millions

The Christian radio broadcasters represented a listening audience of more than 18 million people. They were briefed in the Indian Treaty Room of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. The speakers presented various faith topics and concerns, discussing ways the Trump administration is addressing them.

The radio broadcasters heard from the US Vice President Mike Pence and the President’s Senior Advisor, Jared Kushner. They were briefed by James ‘Kevin’ Smith of the DHS Center for Faith and Opportunity Initiatives; Special Representative for International Negotiations Jason Greenblatt; and State Department Ambassador for Religious Freedom Sam Brownback, amongst others.

America has choices to make but God must be God of our choices

Singer,  JJ Weeks reflected on when he was at the “Faith Briefing for CCM Artists.” That event was organized by Pastor Paula White, President Trump’s chair for his Faith Advisory Board. JJ said that as they were worshipping on November 13, 2018, God began giving him a song. Saying, “It’s a song about the decisions America makes.”

He remarked that the very day he finished writing the song, the state of New York passed the “Death Star Legislation,” tragically allowing babies to be aborted up to the day of birth. He then sang, “Choices,” birthing it in the same room it was conceived in.

As JJ was singing I was moved by the Holy Spirit, shaking and shedding soft tears in worship. Afterwards, I looked at my wife saying, “This is a powerful moment.” Watch:


US Vice President Mike Pence asked Bart Millard of Mercy Me to pray for him. Bart shared how he was caught up in the surreal moment saying, “The Vice President is introducing me?”

Please continue to pray for the leaders of our nation. 1 Timothy 2:1-2 says, “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”
