An Iraqi Christian man was doused in 20 gallons of kerosene by the so-called ‘Islamic State’ group (ISIS) who tried to set him on fire but miraculously he didn’t burn!
A clip from the documentary ‘Heart and Hands: Iraq” shares the extraordinary testimony of this unnamed Yazidi man who was imprisoned and tortured by the radical Islamist group when they discovered he was a follower of Christ.
However, during the torment, God never left his side and protected his life until he was set free. Bricks were thrown at him but he wasn’t affected by any of it. Gallons of kerosene were poured over him, but God supernaturally protected him from burning.
“They were hitting me with big blocks on my body. The stones were not affecting me. And the last time, they drenched me with 20 gallons of gasoline. And they burned me, but I didn’t burn,” the Yazidi man said in an interview.
Jesus also appeared to him in a dream, promising him something! “It’s a promise between me and Christ,” he added.
Heart and Hands: Iraq
Heart and Hands: Iraq is a documentary by Sean Feucht and Bethel Music that premiered in May 2019. The film reveals the plight of the refugees in Iraq and how God has moved supernaturally amidst war and persecution.
“The Yazidis… were really targeted by ISIS for genocide … they were raped, they were beaten, they were executed,” Sean says. “ISIS didn’t want to imprison them, they just wanted to kill them, wipe them off the map.”
Sean helps victims of terrorism around the world through his nonprofit Light A Candle project.
Let us continue to pray for the persecuted followers of God in the Middle East and all other parts of the world.
