Emmy-award-winning “This Is Us” actress has always been vocal about how important prayer is. And now, Chrissy Metz’s children’s book talks about how “God hears your prayers” for parents and kids to enjoy.
Chrissy Metz
Chrissy Metz is known for her portrayal of Kate Pearson in the television series “This Is Us.” She was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award and two Golden Globe Awards for the role. And she has also played a role in films such as “Sierra Burgess Is a Loser” (2018) and “Breakthrough” (2019).
It is no secret that being a Christian in Hollywood is hard, but Chrissy has been sharing her faith since the beginning, thus people have been blessed by it. It is no doubt that she has been using the gifts God gave her and stewarding them in a way that will point people to Jesus. This is also the reason why she wrote her song, “Talking to God,” in the year 2020.
“‘Talking to God’ is a song about those moments when we ask the questions we desperately want the answers to,” she shared in a video. “Whether it’s a lost love or why our own lives look much different than the way we had hoped they would. It’s about those personal prayers and conversations we have while listening and learning to surrender. And trust in the bigger picture.”
Chrissy Metz’s Children’s Book
It seems, though, that Chrissy is being led by God to touch a different audience this time through a book she co-authored with Bradley Collins.
The title of the books is “When I Talk to God, I Talk About You.” Her grandmother instilled in her the importance of prayer at a very young age. And Chrissy said that she was inspired by her.
She wants to share through this children’s book what was taught to her, hoping that it will help children understand that prayer is similar to talking to a friend.

“That’s really what prayer is—a conversation with God,” Chrissy said. “I do it all the time. I mean, morning, noon, night, and in between. And when you sort of demystify what it is, you really start to create an actual relationship with God. You don’t have a friendship with a friend if you don’t call them, right?”
“Hopefully, it’ll touch parents just as much as the children,” she added.
“Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it,” (Proverbs 22:6, NLT).
