A Good Samaritan Honors God After Rescuing A Woman Who Nearly Died From Choking

A Good Samaritan gave all the honor to God after rescuing a woman who nearly died from a choking incident in a restaurant.

Choking Incident

It was a typical day for Jenn Gottschling when she dined at a restaurant in Warren, Michigan. She ordered food with her friend when she suddenly choked while eating.

In an interview with WJBK-TV, she recounted the struggle, “I started choking on the cheese.”

Jenn thought she was okay at first, but when she couldn’t breathe anymore, she panicked. In a recorded video from Leo’s Coney Island restaurant, she stood up while trying to catch her breath from the choke. That’s when other customers noticed the commotion, and one Good Samaritan immediately took action.

Falicia Clark, a woman trained in first-aid and life-saving measures, happened to be in the restaurant. So, when she saw what was happening, she went out of her way to help the other customer.

“Falicia Clark came up behind me and gave me some good Heimlich squeezes,” Jenn told the outlet.

Hero Honors God

She also revealed that she thought she was really going to die at that moment. Later, Jenn revealed how she felt, saying it deeply shook her because of her children. Apparently, her husband, Danny, had been battling stage four lung cancer. He was diagnosed six months ago, and Jenn has been by his side, taking care of him. And she couldn’t just leave her children behind in such an unlikely situation.

People deemed Falicia, a hero for saving Jenn in the harrowing choking ordeal. But she doesn’t consider herself that way. Instead, she credited God for using her to save the woman.

“I don’t consider myself a hero,” she stressed. “I’m just a human and when I see another human in need, I just stepped in when I needed. I just gave all the honor to God because I was just at the right place at the right time.”

A mom encouraged other parents to teach their children basic life-saving skills after almost choking to death in front of her children.

During a typical Monday, Lindsay Smith from Charlotte, North Carolina was home alone with her three sons ages 5, 7, and 8. While eating some bacon, she choked on a small piece because of two neck surgeries she had undergone last year. It was a common happening to her but it was the first time that no other adult was around.

“I was not breathing at all,” Lindsay said. “I knew that in the next minute if I could not get air, I was going to pass out. So I had about a minute to figure out what I was going to do before that happened.”

Her 7-year-old son Michael was watching a show when it happened. Thankfully, the 5-year-old Abe turned around and saw his mom struggling. He immediately knew something bad was happening.

“I knew that if he saw 911, he would know that he needed to call and ask for help.”

Basic life-saving skills

Lindsay’s 8-year-old son Hunter was suffering from several developmental and medical challenges so she taught her children basic life-saving skills at an early age.

“Our children have to know that it’s not scary to call 911,” Lindsay says.

Scared for her life, she desperately prayed to the Lord.

“God, I really need your help. Don’t let my kids see this happen, don’t let them watch me choke to death.”

The Lord answered her prayers when she was able to take the “tiniest gasp of air.” It was so loud that it scared Abe but she finally was able to cough once. She then again took a gasp of air which led to more coughing until she was able to breathe properly.

Lindsay’s near-death experience led her to encourage other parents to teach their young children basic life-saving skills.

“Moms are spending an unprecedented amount of time with their kids right now. In the presence of what could be long-term remote learning, the best way you can spend your time is teaching them things like how to call 911, how to remember their address, knowing your phone number, and what to do in emergency situations without being scared.”

Young Boy Hailed As Hero For Saving Little Sister After Watching John Cena

A young boy is being hailed as a hero for saving his choking little sister. He learned the life-saving procedure after he watched WWE superstar John Cena on television.

Matt Dempsey was driving on the road with his 8-year-old son, Jaxson, and 20-month-old daughter, Lelia, when the terrifying moment happened. Without any sound, Lelia stopped breathing while choking on a chicken nugget. Matt was unaware of the danger his daughter is facing, thankfully, Jaxson noticed his little sister’s struggle.

Without any wasted time, Jaxson calmly directed his father to pull the car over. He then quickly proceeded to dislodge the obstruction from Lelia’s airway. After just 30 seconds, Lelia coughed out the piece of a nugget.

Heroic Jaxson

Jaxson was able to learn the life-saving procedure after watching WWE superstar John Cena on the episode of Nickelodeon show “The Substitute,” where he performed the maneuver. Matt expressed his gratitude to God for his son who saved her little daughter’s life.

“I couldn’t hear her because she was choking. She wasn’t coughing, she wasn’t panicking. She just had no air going through, she wasn’t breathing,” Dempsey told WNEP-News. “Thank God Jaxson was there because, without him, I don’t know if Lelia would be here.”

John Cena

After hearing Jaxson’s heroic story, John Cena sent a “thank you” video message to him to honor this young man.

“I heard a story about you, and it really touched my heart,” John said. “A story that in a time of crisis, you were brave enough to take action… Usually, when bad things happen, one of the toughest things for all of us to do is to take action. You jumped right in, helped out the best you could. [By] doing so, you saved your sister’s life. I really want to say thank you for being you, Jaxson. Thank you for being an inspiration; thank you from all of us.”

Chick-Fil-A Employee Saves Child’s Life Choking In Restaurant’s Drive-Through

A Chick-fil-a employee saved a child’s life who was being choked by a seatbelt in the restaurant’s drive-through.

Right after a busy lunch rush at a Chick-Fil-A in Manchester, a frightening event happened. Panic-stricken screams were heard at the restaurant’s drive-through, the cries were from the SUV right outside the drive-through window.

It appeared that a child was being choked by a seat belt that had become wrapped around the child’s neck. The cries were from the other children in the car.

Zack Kokenzie

The child’s father rushed to the back seat to unwrap the seatbelt from around his son’s neck. Another customer left his car to help the frantic father, but they were both unsuccessful.

Chick-fil-a employee Zack Kokenzie heard the commotion happening. With his training as an Eagle Scout, he surveyed the situation and calmly walked over to help. Fellow team member Zachary Bullock passed a pair of scissors through the drive-through window to Zack. He then cut through the seatbelt, freeing the child.

Child’s life saved

With their teamwork and training, this Chick-fil-a team saved the child’s life. Store owner Alex Vann expressed his appreciation to his team.

“Zack and our team acted quickly in rescuing a child from a life-threatening situation. I am proud of Zack, Justin, Zachary B., and our team for their quick thinking and quick responses. This could have been far worse, but Zack and others were in the right place, with the right training and the right attitude to potentially save the life of one of our customers. We are glad everyone is alright,” Alex said in a statement.

The account of the event was posted on Chick-fil-a Manchester Expressway Facebook page where hundreds are praising Zack and the team for their quick response.

“Actions like this by young men like these 2 bring back hope to me for young America. Job well-done fellas. With integrity and courage, you both had is a sign you will go far in life. GOD bless you both,” Tony Watsons commented on the Facebook post.
