Seasons come and go. Some are filled with mountain top moments with the Lord. Others may seem like He isn’t there at all. Change is promised. Learning to navigate seasons of difficulty, trusting God, can powerfully lead you into a life of satisfaction not based on your circumstances.
Getting through the grit with God
Despite what happens in life, the bible promises us that God is with us. With this truth, here are a few questions to consider in seasons of difficulty.
-
“God, what are you teaching me?”
Often, we lose ourselves in the struggle instead of staying connected to what God wants to reveal to us. Remain curious before the Lord, asking Him to show what He is teaching you within the struggle.
-
“Have I forfeited my peace?”
Peace is a promise. Jesus freely gives it to us. The chaos of a hard season distracts from the reality of peace inside of us.
-
“How can I know you deeper, Holy Spirit?
We have the unique opportunity on this side of heaven to know God within our pain and suffering. There is a rich-depth of knowing God available in every season. Often, our most difficult times draw us the closest to God, if we continue to seek relationship with Him.
A Time for Everything
3 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)
