A Notts County Football player knelt to honor God at the center field of a football stadium after their victory at Wembley.
Notts County Victory
The Notts County Magpies defeated the Chesterfield football team in the National League game last month at Wembley Stadium. According to BBC’s report, they beat the opponent “on penalties in an astonishing National League promotion final.” Following the victory, one of the players was spotted doing something incredible at the stadium’s center field.
On that victorious day, when everyone was celebrating, midfielder John Bostock knelt on the field to thank and honor God.Football Player Honors God
In an Instagram video shared by Three16 Sports Agency, John was recorded kneeling and praying. Which another teammate approached him and joined him in glorifying God on the field. Later, another man walked up to the two and talked with them. So, the two players, wearing jersey shirts 24 and 26, stood and hugged each other before they walked off the field.
A Man of God
In his Instagram bio, John described himself as an athlete and a “disciple, husband, father, and a footballer.” Apparently, the midfielder is a man who loves God and encourages others through his Christian faith. And he is bold about it.
Last June 15, John shared that they had a “two-day retreat” in Somerset, UK. He wrote that the participants were “professional footballers who ply their trade in the United Kingdom—apostles of the Lord Jesus in the sport sphere.”
“We drew great help from the Lord together in intense fellowship and prayer,” he remarked.
Christian athletes like John are making a difference in the sports industry. May God continue to raise more athletes like him who would glorify and honor God in their lives!
“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” -1 Corinthians 10:31
