Cassidy considered herself an extreme atheist who had persecuted Christians before…that’s until she met God for herself.
Extreme Atheist
“I was an extreme atheist, extreme vegan, and pansexual. And honestly, I was just an egotistical, terrible person. I was a mean person; I actually shamed Christians. And I just went out of my way to shame anyone who didn’t believe in what I believed in.” This is what Cassidy said in her testimony video.
She also admitted to practicing extreme veganism. Cassidy went to school for animal rights, worked for PETA, and used to hand out veggie dogs to senators wearing a lettuce bikini. She was passionate about what she believed in.
But everything suddenly changed.
Crohn’s Disease
“And then my life flipped.”
In June 2019, Cassidy experienced a terrible stomach ache that lasted for about a week.
“I finally went to the ER, and they did a CAT scan, and they said it’s Crohn’s disease. My health really began to decline. Doctors were prescribing me medication, pain medicine, and anything to just help, but nothing was working,” she said.
She was slowly losing the life she wanted. Weight loss, excruciating pain, and being unable to do normal things made Cassidy think of ending her life.

“I didn’t know what day would be my last day. Every day I wake up and I hate being here. I just hated every second of it, and I just wanted to die; I wanted to kill myself. I was either going to die from this disease or kill myself, either one. And I was fine with it,” she said.
Extreme Atheist Receives Miraculous Healing
Although she was excited to die and wanted to just give up, God had other plans!
“I have the same dietician every single morning come in. Then there was that one night that I thought it was going to be my last and this woman came. She is this beautiful Jamaican woman, and I’ve never seen her before. I’ve been in and out of the hospitals. Like, I know these people really well. But I’ve never seen her before.”
“And all of a sudden, these tears were just falling on my face. She’s seen me crying, and she’s like, ‘We need to pray. I’m going to pray for you.’ And I used every ounce of my energy left to tell her, “No, we are not praying. I am an extreme atheist.”
“And she’s like, ‘No, we are.’ She started praying, and I was like, You know what? Talk nonsense. I don’t even care,” Cassidy recalled.
Pain Gone
After the prayer, Cassidy didn’t feel anything change. But the next day, all pain had left her body, and doctors couldn’t tell her how or why. Her mother was shocked, but there was no explanation.
And the woman who prayed for her was nowhere to be found. It was the first and last time that Cassidy saw her.
When she left the hospital, her heart’s desires changed. She had a longing for God. And though she was still on a few medications, she knew that God was with her.
“With all these struggles, I can tell you that it is so much better with the Lord by your side,” she concluded.
