A fashion designer created the “Culture of Life 1972 (COL1972)” fashion brand to celebrate the last year the culture of life was honored in the US.
Carla D’Addesi
Fashion Designer Carla D’Addesi birthed her business “out of necessity” after she and her daughters found out that many popular fashion brands contribute to pro-abortion organizations. That fact left them dismayed, thus the “Culture of Life 1972 (COL1972)” is founded.
“We discovered that there were over 70 brands that gave back to a culture of death,” Carla said to Abby Johnson.
1972
COL1972 is aiming to support Christian organizations and efforts. One of the company’s products is the “1972” necklace, Carla explained on the “Politely Rude” podcast by Abby Johnson the reason behind the year.
1972 is the last year before U.S. Supreme Court legalized abortion across the United States. The necklace contradicts the popular 1973-themed necklace famously worn by celebrities in recent years. The 1973 necklace commemorates the contentious Roe vs. Wade abortion decision.
“They’re hanging this tombstone of 60 million children around their necks [who] never had the right to life,” she explained. “We want to say we are using this year … to celebrate the last year that we enjoyed a culture of life in the United States of America.”
Culture of Life
Carla also wants to honor the more than 60 million unborn babies who have died because of abortion through her necklace. She also boldly urged every Christian to stand up and be the voice for unborn babies.
“If we claim that we are a culture that really cares about life, it needs to start in the womb,” she said. “Period. End of story.”
COL1972 is not just another fashion brand, for Carla, it is a ministry for the Kingdom of the Lord.
“We’re a fashion brand with a big, big ministry,” Carla shared.
