A man lost his half-brother and daughters to multiple misfortunate events. He became a drug addict to numb his pain and blamed God for everything. But later, God saved and redeemed his life.
Abusive Childhood
Joshua Mason didn’t have a great childhood. As a young boy, his memories included abuse from his stepfather. For that reason, he lived in constant fear every day. But everything changed for his stepfather when his half-brother, Lucas, was born and he stopped abusing Joshua.
Joshua, still a young boy, was happy because he finally was experiencing real family. However, that experience was short lived because two months later, his baby half-brother suddenly passed away from “sudden infant death syndrome.”
Leaving Home
Joshua’s mom quickly fell into alcoholism to cope with the pain. Meanwhile, his stepfather became even more violent than ever before. His mom gave him a choice: if he wanted to leave, she would buy him a plane ticket and live with his biological father. And without hesitation, 12-year-old Joshua took the chance to leave that home and never returned. Although it broke his heart to leave his mom, Joshua chose to live with his biological father.
Blaming God
Several years later, when Joshua started dating at 23, his past traumas began to haunt him. His girlfriend got pregnant and gave birth to a baby girl named Lauren. And instead of being excited, he often feared that his baby girl wouldn’t live past the three-month mark, just like his half-brother.
PRAY FOR ISRAEL: DAY TWO UPDATE
Then, a tragedy hit again just a few days before her three-month birthday—his baby passed away from accidentally being smothered while co-sleeping with her parents. Anger and hatred then filled Joshua’s heart, not just towards his girlfriend but also towards God. He blamed Him for everything.
Becoming A Drug Addict
Joshua suffered from depression. But despite this, he tried to start over again. He got another girlfriend pregnant, but he turned to drugs to ease his pain.
Watch and see how God powerfully encountered Joshua and turned his life around!
