Actress Letitia Wright opens up about her journey during a dark moment in her life before returning to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Behind The Scene Of Black Panther Star
In November last year, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever became a box office hit after being released in theaters worldwide. With the film’s success, one wouldn’t know what the lead role, Letitia Wright, went through before she was put on spotlight. And now, the actress is sharing her story to encourage others to put their faith in God, especially in dark moments.
When the actress took the lead role in the successful Marvel film, Letitia doubted herself. It happened after she met an accident during the production of Black Panther 2. She got “severely injured” and suffered from a “shoulder fracture” and a “bad concussion.” The actress went into rehab, but she could barely manage herself.Feeling Hopeless
In an interview with Garden Media, Letitia recalled a painful moment in her life and admitted her mind went blank. The actress felt hopeless and began feeling anxious about how she could go back to her movie. But she revealed that although it was truly hard for her, God sent friends and family who prayed for her.
“God used those friends, those family members to sow seeds of encouragement when I couldn’t’ do it for myself,” she said. “To pray for me when I couldn’t do it myself because I was really down.”God Speaks
During those moments, losing a brother in the industry, Chadwick Boseman, also added to her heavy heart. She couldn’t find a reason to keep on going with acting. She lost her sense of purpose and identity until God spoke to her. The Lord told her “to pick two whys.” Then she thought to honor God and the original Black Panther, Chad.
“I said, ‘God, if I can honor you with my talent.. if I can honor You and I can honor Chad, then that’s my why of doing this,” she said.
Soon, Letitia began to see a brighter perspective on her situation and found hope.
“If I can make it through this and I can tell the testimony, someone on the other side who needs to hear that encouragement will be able to feel empowered,” the actress said.
Further, she shared how she did her best to excel one scene at a time in the film and trusted God with the results.
“That’s when faith steps in,” Letitia explained. “Because we’re human and we don’t know if something’s gonna work. We doubt all the time. That’s faith that you know God’s not going to take you this far to leave you.. Do it with excellence one scene at a time then I’ve done all that I could do. And it’s up to God to do the rest.”
