“We live in a day in which false doctrine abounds on every hand and the only Christian who is safe from being led into error is the one who studies his Bible for himself, daily.” – R.A. Torrey
Someone once shared that the team cannot be clear, if the leader is cloudy, and how true this can be. Isn’t that why the enemy attacks our leaders: political leaders, leaders in our homes, our husbands, our fathers, and ministry leaders, alike?
Whether it’s health issues, financial issues, drugs and alcohol, pornography, or an adulterous affair, the family unit is under attack. War is being waged against our society, our nation. The division being created, under these attacks, is purposed to divide the home, the state (the government), His people, and all the nations.
The Bible warns us, “And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful” (2 Timothy 2:24). — And it’s easy to see that we all have much more to learn.
Don’t Give Up
If God gives you a dream, do you give up on your dream when circumstances become too overwhelming? Or do you keep going, believing for His promises, even when the world seems to stop?
Do you notice the spiritual warfare happening all around you, as the enemy prepares to destroy that dream?
He’s waging war against your teammates, as well as your own family. I mean, if he can cause the people around you to quit, then it’s only a matter of time before he’s got you, too… Right?
Jesus Is the Answer
The last ten years have spoken a great deal of truth to my life, as the Lord continues to teach me what’s true and correct in a setting of unity, and as a body of believers. Whether it’s in marriage, a family dynamic, a friendship, or work with a colleague, the Lord is showing me how important each of us are to this body of Christ.
The should’ve, could’ve, would haves in life, the regrets that have held us in bondage for so long, do not apply to our renewed life in Him. Too often we forget, what’s done is truly done. We hang on to the past, as if we’ve lost our identity in it. Though these life-lessons have helped us along our way, they’re not purposed to be our only way.
Jesus is the answer! We need to be believing for His promises. He is the Redeemer of all things, and the mistakes we’ve made, once we’ve given them to Him, are indeed at the bottom of the ocean floor. We don’t need to go deep sea diving to retrieve them, or unbury them to view them once more.
A Surrendered Life
When we truly surrender our lives to the Lord, the old man and the old behavior will pass away. This is the evidence of our surrendered life. Yes, this does take time, and yes, reflections from the past do help us to “get on with it,” as our story unfolds…
My point is, if we are growing to be more like Him, we are going to act more like Him, and this will show up in our daily choices, our behavior, our lives.
Remember, for there to be change, the old behavior must change. He who is in you, is stronger than he who is in the world! We simply need to keep believing for His promises!
