The Spirit of revival continued to move mightily at several secular colleges in Atlanta.
Spirit of Revival
Following the Asbury Revival, several other campuses and churches continued to experience the powerful outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Among those are some campuses near the United Church Atlanta, a predominantly Black congregation in the city.
Lead pastor Arthur Breland shared that these campuses are recognized as historically Black colleges and universities. These campuses are the Morehouse, Spelman Colleges, and Clark Atlanta University. These are all secular schools yet are still seeing the manifest presence of the Lord. It’s all made possible by student-led evangelism and revival groups.
“They are gathering in groups of 50 to 70 students to pray, do evangelism, repent of sin, and worship Jesus,” Arthur shared on his social media.

Secular Colleges
The Black Voices Movement is a group of radical Millennial and Gen Z missionaries who brings the Gospel to the campuses. Their aim is to empower leaders of color into their Christ-centered calling. BVM leader Yasmin Pierce shared how they have witnessed many people giving their lives to Jesus Christ while they were preaching the Gospel in a student union, a three-story building.
“People stopped in their tracks all across the student union as he boldly says, ‘If you know you need to give your life to Jesus today, I want you to come down here right now and we’re going to pray for you,” she said.
The Christian population in these Atlanta campuses is only less than 5%, some are even closer to 1%. Though they are few, these Christian students are using their voices to bring more people to Jesus Christ.
“We’re empowering this generation to share the gospel and, specifically, young Black men and women as laborers, creatives, musicians, worship leaders, preachers, and evangelists,” Yasmin said.
