He preached in a message that we are the called-out ones! We are called out from the world; called to be different, so that the world will look at us and long for Jesus. Dare to be different!

“Diamonds are precious because diamonds are not easy to find. Diamonds dare to be different. Stones don’t dare to be different. So stones are dime a dozen. There’s no value to stones. Don’t you be a stone! A living one, yes, but don’t be a stone like the world.”

This is what God wanted for Israel when He freed them and brought them to the Promised Land. He wanted them to be different!

How To Steward Your Breakthrough

A family had been praying for a new house and some land for their children to play and to raise animals. They prayed for years and felt like God wanted them to wait for the right time. One day, God suddenly called another couple to the mission field. They needed someone to rent their house so that they could go overseas. This couple had a feeling they should call the couple who had been praying for land. Through a sudden connection, and the loving hand of God, everything worked out and both couples got the answer they needed…and wanted! God is so good. But, the story isn’t over. This new land is a blessing and now it’s time to steward the breakthrough.

In Deuteronomy, God spoke though Moses to give Israel instructions on how to enter the Promised Land.

“Then take care lest you forget the Lord, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. It is the Lord your God you shall fear. Him you shall serve and by his name you shall swear. You shall not go after other gods, the gods of the peoples who are around you—” (Deuteronomy 6:12-14).

The key is to remember God! Remember that He is the One who answered your prayers. Keep Him as the priority in everything and stay thankful. Don’t stop praying!

Ask Him what His dreams are, because there is a reason He answered, and it goes beyond simply giving you something. Maybe the “new land” is for building community and sharing what you have. God wants to do so much more than we can ask or imagine.

“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen” (Ephesians 3:20-21).

Application

Are you waiting for your prayers to be answered? Keep praying and praising!

When the answer comes, ask God how you can steward what He has given you.

Praise Him in the middle of it all, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:1-2).

Prayer

Jesus, thank you that you see me! You are the Author and Perfecter of my faith. I thank you for all that you have already done and I celebrate your goodness! I believe that I will see the goodness of God in the land of the living! In Jesus’ name. Amen.

4-Year-Old Girl Shares Powerful Message

Harper Rae is a source of inspiration for people who have been following her Instagram account. Her bright, fun, and wise words bring so much joy to some.

In one of her recent videos, she shared about the Holy Spirit’s joy in the hearts of believers.

“You have the joy in your heart. The joy of God and Jesus in your heart. And you have the Spirit of God and Jesus in your heart. God answers prayers because He loves you more than anything in this world. Even if you’re being naughty, even when you make a mistake, He always forgives you,” she said.

4-Year-Old Girl Said, “Ask God To Help You”

Aside from talking about God’s joy, she also shared about asking for help from God.

“When people love you, it means a lot to God. And when people love everybody in the world, it means a lot to God, too. And if no one really knows what you’re doing, join them into the game if they ask. Because it might be a fun game. And you never know!

“When God loves you, it’s telling the truth. And if you don’t know it in your heart, God knows it in your heart. When you feel a feeling that you don’t like, tell God to help you. Or ask your parents to help you. But God and Jesus will help you the best,” she said.

Verses For Kids

There are many verses in the Bible that talk about how to raise children who have reverence for the Lord, just like Harper Rae. Your children can be an inspiration, too! So, may these verses inspire you to partner with God in raising your child:

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6).

“All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children” (Isaiah 54:13).

“Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him” (Psalm 127:3).

“Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4).

“Discipline your children, and they will give you peace of mind and will make your heart glad” (Proverbs 29:17).

How To Be A Godly Steward

God is a God of rewards, and there’s no rewards where there are no options. You’ve gotta have two trees in the garden. You’ve gotta have two trees in the garden. To be rewarded for choosing the right tree, you have to have the option of another tree. A word spoken of our life for which we have no options cannot be rewarded, because there’s no will involved.

We have asked for things from the Lord that He cannot randomly give them unless the character or the depth of devotion has been proven by us continuously choosing the right tree, if you will. We have asked to raise the dead. We have asked for every cancer case that we pray for to be healed. We’ve asked for these things from the Lord. You fill in the blanks. But the point is, is we’ve raised up to the Lord these impossible cries, and the moment you prayed it, He began to answer it. But He answered it by giving you the answer in seed form. In Luke 19 the disciples say, “Jesus.” They were thinking that it was at that time He was gonna make His military move, if you will. And Israel was gonna be brought outta the dominion of Rome and under His rulership as a king. And they were expecting this sudden military move from heaven to remove Israel out of the enemy’s occupation. And in response to that, Jesus gave them a parable about minas, about money, and they stewarded the money. They made profit and the master showed up and turned over cities to their care.

Let’s put it this way. A guy used a thousand dollars, he invested his master’s money, he made $10,000 profit. The master shows up and made him a governor over 10 cities. What were they looking for? They were looking for earthly dominion of God over cities. What did Jesus do? He took them into a parable where the dominion was given to them through the process of godly stewardship. In other words, they stewarded the money that was in their pocket, which gave them an audience to influence the heart and mindset of an entire city. God gives us things in seed form, but because we expect for God to give us an oak tree instead of an acorn, we have very little value for what has been given to us and end up aborting the miracle in its development stages.

At one of our school sessions in our school of ministry, I felt prompted as I was coming up to the class, I felt there was somebody there that had asked the Lord for $500 that morning. And so when I stood up, I said, “Is there anyone here that you asked God specifically for $500 this morning?” A woman raised her hand. I said, “Come here,” and I gave her $50. I said, “This isn’t $500. It’s 50,” I said, “But there’s $500 in the $50.” In the same way that there’s an oak tree in an acorn, there’s $500 in the $50. I found out a couple weeks later, she went home. She went to the grocery store that evening. There was a family there that couldn’t pay for all their groceries. She used her $50 to help those that were hungry to have some food on the table, thinking that she just lost her $50. And when she got home, somebody drove up and brought her $500.

Your Prayers Are Being Heard

I remember a few years ago, right after I had become a Christian, it was the middle of my twenties and my life took a complete drastic turn. And I started to share things on social media that were completely different than what I had been sharing before. And I will never forget that this girl from high school. I have an older sister who’s about a year and a half older, and she’s been a Christian for as long as I can remember in our teens. I remember this girl from high school messaged me on Facebook saying, “Wow, Jen, this is so encouraging to see the fruit of your sister’s prayer, 10 years later to see you come to know the Lord. I just want you to know that your sister was praying for you.” I think it was at Fellowship of Christian Athletes in high school, and now 10 years later, like to see the fruit of those prayers come to pass. And it just impacted me so much, especially in the last seven years of my walk with the Lord to encourage me that while I’m praying for people.

I think we all have someone in our life that we’re contending for that we just want to know that Jesus loves them so much. And I share that testimony a lot to encourage people, that if they have a family member or a friend that they’ve been relentlessly praying for, to just know that those prayers are heard. Those prayers are impacting the person that they’re believing for, that they’re loving on. And that one day I fully believe that you’ll see that person come to know the fullness of Jesus in their life as well.

So I just pray for you, if that’s you, that you feel the endurance in that, that you feel that the Lord is covering them, and that you just see little nuggets of how your life has impacted them as you continue to just believe for that fullness in their life.

Prayer Is A Powerful Weapon – 5 Effective Strategies For Breakthrough

Prayer is a powerful weapon that we have been given as believers. But are we using this weapon as effectively as we could be? The Word of God is clear on the importance of prayer and we are going to highlight five effective strategies for seeing breakthrough in prayer.

These are not good ideas or the next trend. Prayer is a powerful weapon that we have access to as part of our inheritance in the Kingdom of God. It’s time that we start tapping into greater and greater measures of breakthrough. It’s what Jesus purchased on the cross and He deserves to get His full reward!

Prayer Is A Powerful Weapon of the Kingdom

In 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, the verse paints a clear picture of the power we have been given access to through Kingdom weapons: “For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

The weapons of the Kingdom have “divine power to demolish strongholds“. Do you have a stronghold in your life, your city, or your nation? If so, you have been given access to the powerful weapons of the Kingdom! The hope of glory is Christ IN you (Colossians 1:27)!

Prayer Is A Powerful Weapon, But Now What?

The scriptures below make it clear that we have access to powerful, stronghold demolishing, weapons of the Kingdom, but how do we wield them? And how do we partner with the Holy Spirit to see the glory of the Lord cover the earth as the waters cover the sea (Habakkuk 2:14)?!

Again, we look to the Word of God and the promises contained in it to discover how to wield our Kingdom weapons. Prayer is a powerful weapon and there are several promises that we can step into and stand on as we demolish strongholds in our lives and on the earth!

Strategy #1 – Agreement

Matthew 18:19-20 – ” ‘Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.’ ”

Prayer is a powerful weapon when we pray together in agreement with other believers. Deuteronomy 32:30 is another instance where we see the power of agreement in scripture, “How could one man chase a thousand, or two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, unless the Lord had given them up?” There is exponential increase when two agree.

If you’re struggling to breakthrough in a specific area of your life, have you tried praying in agreement with someone else? If not, why don’t you try it today? You can stand on the promise in Matthew 18:19-20 and use prayer as a powerful weapon to see your breakthrough – exponential breakthrough!

Strategy #2 – Believe

Mark 11:24 – “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

When you pray, do you pray hoping something will happen? Or do you pray believing that something will happen? There is a huge difference. When we pray hoping something will happen, doubt often creeps in. We aren’t really sure that God will move on our behalf. However, when we pray believing that God will move on our behalf we are activating the truth in Mark 11:24 that is attached to a powerful promise – it will be yours!

There are two good indicators for assessing if you are praying from hope or from believing. First, when you pray do you doubt? If so, confess, ask forgiveness, and then pray again believing that what you ask for will be yours! Second, are you seeing the fruit of your prayers? If not, then you might not believe that what you’re praying for will come to pass. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal what’s happening and take care of that with Him. Then ask again!

Strategy #3 – Call Out

Jeremiah 33:3 – “Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

This strategy is super simple, but even some believers forget to engage in this way. We have to call out to Him. We have to ask. Matthew 7:7 gives the same promise as Jeremiah 33:3, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Our responsibility in prayer is to call out and ask.

Do you struggle in asking God for things? It might be because you’re believing a lie (or two) about Him. He is a good Father and has good plans for your life (Jeremiah 29:11). If you aren’t experiencing “good plans”, it’s not Him. He allows the consequences of our actions, but He doesn’t cause bad things to happen to us to teach us lessons.

We don’t see that pattern modeled in the life of Jesus. Yes, He went to the cross, but it was “for the joy set before Him, scorning it’s shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2). Every test He can turn into a testimony. Every mess, He can turn into a message. Call out to Him and invite Him into yours!

Strategy #4 – Be Confident

Hebrews 4:14-16 – “Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.“

We are sons and daughters, not slaves. Jesus’ words in John 15:15 are true for you today, “I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” We are His friends. Friends have access. Prayer is a powerful weapon and we can approach our Father with confidence, knowing that He cares for us!

Strategy #5 – Righteous Prayer

James 5:16 – “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”

Did you know that as a believer in Jesus Christ you have been made righteous by His blood? The Father chose Jesus to pay the price for sin and because of His sacrifice we have become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21). And because we are righteous in Him that means we are promised that our prayers are “powerful and effective” (James 5:16).

If you need breakthrough in any area of your life you can stand on the promise in James 5:16 and see breakthrough come as you confess your need and pray together. This strategy is simple – know who you are in Him, then confidently pray for one another. Prayer is a powerful weapon, especially in the mouths of the righteous!

10 Verses That Make Good Prayers

The Word of God is a powerful tool in the life of every believer. John 1:1 says the “Word was with God” and “the Word was God”. A few verses later in John 1:14, it is revealed that “the Word became flesh”. Thus, the Word of God is Jesus because Jesus is the person of the Godhead that became flesh and dwelt among us.

Praying The Word of God

Let’s be honest, sometimes prayer can be hard. As believers, there are times when we don’t know how to pray or we don’t know what to pray. Using the Word of God as a tool for prayer, not only gives us word to pray, but we’re actually activating the Word of God that is living and active (Hebrews 4:12) into our lives!

Verses You Can Pray

#1 – Psalm 27:1 – The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?

#2 – 1 Thessalonians 5:24 – The one who calls you is faithful, and He will do it

#3 – Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

#4 – Psalm 63:3 -Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.

#5 – Psalm 100:1-2 – Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.

#6 – Isaiah 60:1 – Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.

#7 – James 1:22 – Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

#8 – Ephesians 4:29 – Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

Does God Really Answer Our Prayers?

We all go through some severely trying situations in life, and sometimes we may feel that God doesn’t care what is happening to us or that He is answering our prayers.

We have moments of despair and desperation that can test our faith. Many Christians will give glib or pat answers regarding prayer. They say things like, “God will provide” or “into every life some rain must fall, just pray.” But it’s neither fair nor wise to respond in that way.

No one knows what another person is suffering, but God does. Jesus answers prayers in amazing ways that you would never imagine. He gives us strength for the journey and sees us through the hardships.

We can pray for something we think we really want or need, and those prayers will be answered. We just may not like some of the answers we get. God shows that He cares about us and that He can take better care of us than we can.

We must learn to trust God to open the doors that He knows are best for us and close the doors that only lead to trouble. Trying to force open doors that we shouldn’t may find hardship on the other side.

When you don’t get the answers to your prayers that you expected or hoped for, perhaps God has another plan in mind for you. Perhaps it’s something that you aren’t aware of yet, something better than you could ever imagine.

Trust Him, and He will take good care of you. He knows what’s good for you and wants to help you to find it. Let His no be no, and His yes be yes. Just keep seeking God in the Bible and prayer and He will lead you through to the other side.

Maybe your prayers are being answered and you don’t even know it. Being a Christian does not mean that God is your personal genie who is going to grant your wishes. Ask God for the wisdom to follow His plans for you instead of what you imagined would be best. Being a Christian means believing God knows best, not you. When you follow His plan for you, that’s when life really falls into place.

God answers all our prayers

If a prayer request is not granted, we think that it is an unanswered prayer. That is a misunderstanding of prayer. God answers every prayer that is lifted to Him. Sometimes God answers “no” or “wait.” God only promises to grant our prayers when we ask according to His will.

What does it mean to pray according to God’s will? Praying according to God’s will is praying for things that honor and glorify God. If we pray for something that is not honoring God or not God’s will for our lives, God will not give what we ask for. How can we know what God’s will is?

You may find yourself failing to pray as often as you should or would like. Talking to God should be the most natural thing for a person of faith but often it is not easy to pray. Perhaps it would help to remember that the most important thing to do when it comes to prayer is to let God speak.

God gives to us; we don’t give to God. We ask; He gives. Jesus teaches us to pray and to freely ask our Father for the desires of our heart. Don’t be afraid to ask Him for anything, and don’t hold back any burdens from Him.

God hears and answers every prayer, but there are a few to which He always says yes. God will always say yes when we ask Him to do His work through His Word.

God always answers these prayers:

Lord, please glorify Yourself through me.
Forgive me, oh Lord.
Reveal more of Yourself to me.
God, grant me wisdom.
Give me the strength to obey you.
Help me spread your Gospel to the lost.

How do we know God will answer these prayers? Because these prayers sum up what God has promised to do through the Gospel. To become better at prayer, we need to become better at asking for help. We need to accept that we are all in need of God’s help and grace. We are mere mortals who need God every step of the way. We would all make a shipwreck of our own life and the lives of those around us if God was not there for us.

All we need to do is ask.
