Andre is the junior guard and co-caption of the University of Connecticut Huskies men’s basketball team. He most likely made a name for himself in professional basketball after his team won the NCAA men’s championship victory on April 3. UConn Huskies won against San Diego State Aztecs with a score of 76-59. This is the team’s fifth national championship in the school’s history.
The 21-year-old athlete played a huge role in leading the team to victory with six assists, three points, three rebounds, and two steals. He has been known for using his platform to glorify God as he sees a direct connection between his faith and career. In an interview prior to the championship game, he credited God for putting him in this position.
“I feel like I’ve gone through a lot of trials and tribulations in the past when it comes to basketball,” he said. “So for Him to present me with a great opportunity like this, I’m really just looking forward to trying to seize it and give all glory to Him, as always.”

On October 12, Andre injured his right pinky finger and has to sit out the first three games of the season.
“I think everything happens for a reason,” he told the Journal Inquirer at the time. “So I think that this is definitely a message from God to just stay consistent in my work and stay on the same path.”
Andre will continue to glorify God with his basketball career as he plans to return to UConn next season.
