God’s Word for the Day: Dream Again

It’s time to dream again and align yourself with God’s promises over your life. Are you pursuing the dreams God has given you?

What Does the Bible Say?

Acts 2:17 proclaims, “In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.”

In a world where dreams often seem to wither and fade amidst the pressures and challenges of life, this is a timeless scripture that beckons us to look beyond our circumstances and dare to dream again.

These profound words, spoken by the Apostle Peter on the day of Pentecost, carry an invitation from your Heavenly Father to tap into the wellspring of His Spirit, open your heart to divine inspiration, and reimagine what is possible.

Throughout history, men and women who dared to dream, who dared to believe that God’s promises could become a tangible reality, have left an indelible mark on the world. From Joseph, who dreamed of leadership and saw nations saved from famine, to Martin Luther King Jr., who envisioned a future of racial equality and touched millions with his dream of unity, we are surrounded by a cloud of dreamers who have shaped the course of history.

Yet, in the midst of life’s challenges, disappointments, and setbacks, your dreams can easily become dormant. You may find yourself trapped in a cycle of hopelessness, afraid to dream again for fear of further disappointment. But Acts 2:17 is a reminder that God’s Spirit is poured out upon all people, breathing life into your dreams and giving you the courage to rise above your circumstances.

It is time to awaken the dreamer within you. It is time to quiet the voices of doubt and fear and listen to the gentle whisper of God’s promises. It is time to take hold of the dreams that have been tucked away in the depths of your heart and allow them to flourish once again.

But how do we begin this journey of dreaming again?

It starts with a posture of surrender—a willingness to let go of your own limitations and lean into the boundless possibilities of God’s kingdom. It requires you to align your desires with His purposes, seek His guidance, and allow His Spirit to shape your dreams.

Immerse yourself in His presence, cultivate a lifestyle of prayer and worship, and create space for God to breathe life into your dreams. Invite Holy Spirit to inspire you, to paint visions in your mind, and to infuse you with the audacity to believe that you can make a difference in the world.

Remember that dreams are not solely for personal gain or ambition. They are given to you as stewardship—an opportunity to partner with God in the restoration of His creation. As you dream again, embrace the responsibility to love and serve others, using your dreams as vehicles for His love and compassion.

Alignment With The Word Brings Life

God’s word is the plumb line He has given us to live by. His word is not just a letter but living to enable us to live by what it says. God’s said word becomes His saying word when we believe it and receive it. Replace each word with the Name of Jesus and see transformation come into your life. His word is powerful and spiritual. His word became flesh and dwelt amongst men. God and His word are one. God’s said word transformed into flesh so that we may see and believe. No one has seen God and therefore He sent Jesus in the form of man. Now we have seen God in Jesus and can relate to Him. His words are in alignment with His personality. When we know Him we become like Him. His word is our template in knowing Him.

Comforter

God has not left us helpless but has sent us a Comforter who will lead us into all truth. His truth is aligned with His word. Therefore when we align ourselves with His word, we walk in obedience. When He said “Love your enemies” He meant it is possible to do so. We can only do this through the Holy Spirit who dwells within us. Many words written in the Beatitudes appear impossible to live by. However they can only be accomplished through a renewed mind. Jesus set the example and knew it was impossible for man but possible for the renewed man.

We are called to follow Him. This means we have to say and do what He said and did. We have to surrender all to Him and live by His Spirit. His Spirit lives in us who believe in Him. Now He lives through us as we allow Him to. There is nothing impossible in God. God wants to restore us to the way it was in the garden of Eden before the Fall. Will we choose to follow Him?

Unity In The Spirit Will Enable Us To Turn The World

In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God (John 1:1, 14). Jesus is the Word and His Word and Him are one. Therefore when we align with His Word we become one with Him and He one with us. He said abide in me and I will abide in you. He and the Father are one. The Holy Spirit dwells within us and makes us one with Him. Jesus prayer was that we would be one as He and His Father were one. This is the kind of unity we have in the Spirit. It is this unity in the Spirit that will enable us to turn the world around from its present state of chaos and disruption. All we see around us is a result of man going his own way and trying to control the planet.

Jesus

God has made a way out for us. He sent His Son, Jesus, to reverse the course of sin. He cancelled the power of sin and redeemed man from being a slave to being a son. This is the kind of revolution we need to save the world from its self destructive path. All we see around us is death and destruction. We think we are progressive but in the name of progress we have surrendered our lives to the evil one. Evil in its many forms is infiltrating every section of our lives. We are under the control of the god of this world and he is hell bent on our destruction. The only way out is to be transformed by His living word.

The Solution Is Unity

His word is a light that will shine in our present darkness. In the midst of all the lies we have His word to guide us. His Spirit will empower His word and bring about the transformation we need. We will never be able to improve ourselves as we are bound by sin. We can dress up sin in nice ways but underneath the rot continues. Sin is like rotten eggs, it poisons the soul. The egg needs to be saved to become whole. The born again experience is a renewal of the spirit by the Holy Spirit. This will cause us to align ourselves with His word and bring about the alignment of the world. There is no other way by which man can be saved. The whole world is waiting for the revelation of the sons of God. This revelation will change the world.

A Hidden Key to Walking in Holy Ghost Power

The Kingdom of God is not based on talk but on power (1 Corinthians 4:20). But how do we tap into that power? How do you position yourself to move in God’s “dunamis“—the power for performing miracles that opens the eyes of the lost to the love of Christ?

I am convinced if we want to see the book of Acts-like power manifesting in our lives, we need to understand the dynamics that unlocked and unleashed that power in the early Church. At least three of those dynamics are in Acts 1 and 2.

Imagine the scene, Jesus appeared to His disciples for 40 days, teaching them about the kingdom of God. After His impromptu seminar, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for the Father’s promise. Jesus prophesied they would receive power when they were baptized in the Holy Spirit. He disappeared in a supernatural swirl, taken up into a cloud followed by two angels prophesying He would return in the same way (Acts 1:8-10).

The Power Of Prayer

What did the disciples do in response to this visitation? They obeyed the word of the Lord—they immediately returned to Jerusalem and found an upper room where they could gather to tarry in prayer. The Bible tells us the apostles, as well as the women and Jesus’ mothers and brothers “continued with one accord in prayer and supplication” (Acts 1:14a).

This wasn’t a 10-minute pre-service prayer meeting like we see in many of our churches today. This wasn’t souls crying out for prosperity. These were unified “pray without ceasing” petitions. They were made with strong devotion to seeing God’s will done in the earth as it is in heaven.

I don’t know how long this prayer went on—how many hours or days they petitioned the Father. I’m not sure exactly what words they prayed. I don’t know any more than what the Bible tells me, but I am certain it was the (James 5:16 AMP) level of prayer: “The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power].”

Prayer Brings Revelation

Whether they prayed for a day, a month or 119 days before God revealed to Peter passages from the book of Psalms, again, I don’t know. But at some point, Peter—who first received the revelation that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of the Living God—received another revelation from his heavenly Father:

“Brothers, this Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit previously spoke by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became the guide to those who seized Jesus. For he was numbered with us and took part in this ministry… “For it is written in the Book of Psalms, ‘Let his habitation become desolate, and let no one live in it,’and, ‘Let another take his office’” (Acts 1:15-17, 20, MEV).

At that point, Peter acted on his revelation and suggested they draw lots to see which of the remaining disciples who had walked with Jesus since the beginning and were witnesses of His resurrection should step into Judas’ role. The lot fell to Matthias, and he was numbered with the 11 apostles (Acts 1:16).

Revelation Brings Alignment

Peter’s revelation restored kingdom order. Jesus chose 12 disciples because 12 is the number of government. Judas betrayal led to an empty seat of governing authority. David prophesied, “let another take his office.” Once prayer unlocked this revelation and kingdom order on the earth was reestablished in the last verse of Acts 1, we see something astounding happen in the first verses of Acts 2.

“When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like a mighty rushing wind came from heaven, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. There appeared to them tongues as of fire, being distributed and resting on each of them, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to speak (Acts 2:1-5).

Holy Ghost power fell upon them, filled them, gave them a new language and got the attention of the world. Souls were saved. The fear of the Lord came to every soul. And dunamis power was released. Specifically, the Bible says “many wonders and signs were done through the apostles” (Acts 2:43b).

Unlocking ‘Dunamis’ Power

From the first two chapters of Acts, we learn that prayer unlocks power. Sometimes it first unlocks revelation that sets the stage for power. It’s possible there is something out of alignment in your life that’s blocking the dunamis from manifesting.

Now, that doesn’t necessarily mean there’s sin. The disciples in the upper room were not in sin—they were in prayer. But there was yet something missing. There was something they needed to do to set proper kingdom order. There was a revelation necessary to open their eyes to an adjustment they needed to make.

If you want to walk in the power of God, pray. Ask Him for a revelation of anything out of alignment in your life. Ask His kingdom to come and His will to be done in your midst. Do like the disciples did. It’s time to lift up continuous petitions with strong devotion. Let’s see God move in and through you for His glory. Amen.
