This Woman’s Testimony Is A Blessing To Many People

Brittany Dawn Nelson is an influencer who now uses her platform to glorify God. But she led a very different life before, and her testimony hasb become a blessing to many people.

A Blessing To Many People

Brittany recently shared a video comparing her life before she knew Jesus to now that she has been serving Him.

“I watched Jesus take me from the pits of hell… And I thought that the more I accomplished, the harder I worked, the more fulfillment I would find. I tried it all,” she said.

She listed everything that God had freed her from.

“Alcohol. Partying. Eating disorder. Debilitating anxiety. Abusive relationships. Depression. Materialism. Sexual sins. New Age beliefs,” she wrote.

But in her own words, Jesus saved her from herself.

Many people can relate to what she’s been through. Especially in today’s world, which places so much importance on pleasing people rather than pleasing God and fulfilling one’s selfish desires rather than doing God’s will.

Her Past Life

But Brittany is living proof that only God can fill the void and emptiness in one’s soul and heart.

“The boys, the booze, and the body… And at the end of every road was a lost and a broken girl just trying to find her way back home. What I didn’t realize was that my home was in the arms of the Father. In a moment, my life was forever marked. I watched Jesus take me from rags to riches, from death to life, from hopeless to hopeful,” she said.

Furthermore, Brittany highlighted how God moved in her life by redeeming and restoring her: “I watched Him free me from depression. I watched Him restore my broken past of sexual sin. And I watched Him remove anxiety from my heart. I watched him heal me from eating disorders. I watched Him heal my eyes from body dysmorphia.”

Her Testimony, A Blessing To Many People

Not only was she freed from all the shackles of the world, but also from the shame of her past.

“I watched Him remove the same from my past. I watched Him heal my trauma from abusive relationships. And I watched Him bring a man of God into my life. In Christ alone, I found life and life abundantly.

“And I am here today to tell you that the same God who worked miracles back then is working miracles to this day. I’ve seen His hand in my life again and again and again. And because of how He saved my life, I will forever shout at Him. This world is fleeting, your soul is the target, and the only answer to every void you’re trying to fill… is Jesus,” she concluded.

From A Man With 5 Prison Sentences To A Pastor Preaching About Jesus | Scott Highberger’s Testimony

A man named Scott Highberger had 5 separate prison sentences, but now he has become a pastor preaching about Jesus.

Pastor Scott Highberger shared his testimony about how God rescued him from darkness. At the young age of 12, he was already using drugs, drinking alcohol, and getting arrested. That’s when he began to visit juvenile detention centers. When he was 19 years old, he went to prison for the first time.

“I didn’t know anything about Christ. I’m not sure if I even believed in God,” he shared.

Sadly, his addictions got worse throughout the years. However, he experienced a memorable moment that deeply impacted his life. He watched a horror movie called “Exorcism of Emily Rose” and suddenly experienced the overwhelming presence of God.

“It shook me so deeply that I went outside, crying my eyes out,” he recalled.

Prison Sentences

The next day, he was arrested under a felony warrant and returned to jail. After that, he did something he had never done before—he asked for a Bible. At this point, he had already been arrested about 30 times and had three prison sentences under his belt. Then, he decided to study the scriptures and look for answers. Two weeks later, he was invited to a church service while in jail where he heard about the gospel of Jesus Christ for the first time.

“When I heard that Good News, it touched my heart. When they had an altar call at the end of the service, I went forward and truly repented and put my faith and trust in Christ and I was never the same,” he testified.

A Pastor Preaching About Jesus

When he got out of jail, his life got worse before it got better. He ended up homeless, and before he knew it, he was back in prison for the fifth time. This time around, he picked His bible again, and when he was released, he did something different. He decided to connect to a local church and became an intern. Afterward, he started a prison ministry within the church.

Furthermore, he became a Pastor and joined a prison ministry in Indiana called “Behind the Wire Ministries.” He also wrote a book entitled “Behind the Wire: a Prisoner’s Journey to the Pulpit” and used it as a resource to help people living destructive lifestyles. Later, his book inspired a faith-based movie entitled “Pardoned by Grace.”

How To Break Destructive Habits And Get More Free

The enemy would like nothing less for people to get stuck and stay stuck in destructive habits. There is a way we can start breaking cycles of addiction and they are found in the Word of God. Jesus came to set us free!

Below are five practical steps for breaking the cycles of destructive habits in your life. The enemy wants you to think the way it is is how it will always be, but that’s a lie!

Destructive habits are not your portion, freedom is yours through Christ. Open your ears to hear, your eyes to see, and your heart to receive. It’s time to receive the promise you were given in John 8:32, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Before you begin your journey through the five steps below, take a few moment to pray through this prayer:
Jesus, thank You for being the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). I recognize that You are drawing me to Yourself and made a way for me be free. 

Holy Spirit, I ask that you would help guide me through these next steps. Thank You that I am not alone because You are with me and want to help me get free.

Father, I ask that You would reveal Yourself to me in deeper ways as my Heavenly Father. Empower me to seek You for protection and to grow in confidence that my identity comes from You alone, amen.

Breaking Cycles of Addiction

The Word of God makes it clear that destructive habits are not God’s will for our lives. 1 Corinthians 16:9-10 is just one example, “Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the Kingdom of God. ” In these two verses alone, Paul is addressing addictions to sex, money, and possessions.

However, reminding an addict about their destructive habits and telling them that they shouldn’t continue is not the way to freedom.  Jesus said, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery” (Galatians 5:1).

So how do you get free? Partner with the Holy Spirit as you go through these five practical steps taken from the Word.

#1 – Stop Looking At The Fruit Of Your Destructive Habits

Whatever you focus on grows. Are you an alcoholic or have the destructive habit of doing drugs? Or over indulgence with food, pornography, masterbation, or sex? Regardless of what your destructive habit is, the reality is that the addiction is simply “fruit” that is growing from the “tree” planted in your heart.

The self-help, 12 step programs, and behavior management will only keep you from participating the bad behaviors of destructive habits, but never free you completely. Without trusting and obeying Jesus, true freedom is not possible. It’s time to start ignoring the fruit of destructive habits in your life and dive a little deeper to discover what “trees” are producing the fruit of these destructive habits and pull them up for good!

Step 1 Activation:
Make a conscious choice to stop focusing on the “fruit” of the destructive habits in your life. Pray and ask the Holy Spirit for grace and guidance on the journey to stepping into the freedom that is already yours.

#2 – Identify The Roots Of Destructive Habits

Roots don’t grow unless seeds are first planted. When it comes to matters of the heart the Bible makes it clear, Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it” (Proverbs 4:23). So we must look to our hearts in order to identify the “roots” that have grown “trees” that are producing the “fruit” of addiction in our lives.

We are called to “guard our hearts”, but as children we often get hurt. The reality is hurt people hurt people and the probability of you being wounded as a child who was unable to guard your heart is almost inevitable (That’s why we all need Jesus! Amen?!). When our hearts are wounded it’s very easy for the enemy to lure us into believing lies. These lies are the seeds that become the trees that grow their roots deep into our hearts. This is where we need to focus when breaking destructive habits.

Breaking The Lies

Below are some common lies we believe, but there are many more.

  • I’m not enough
  • I’m not worthy of love
  • There’s never enough (food, money, comfort, etc.)
  • God doesn’t love me
  • I’m all alone
  • Something is wrong with me
  • I don’t belong
  • I don’t have what it takes
  • I’m too much
  • I’m not enough
  • I don’t have needs

Again, these are just a few examples of the types of lies the enemy tries to spew at us from the time we enter the world. But we don’t have to keep living life through the lens of these lies. We can be free and Jesus knows the way.

Step 2 Activation:
Take some time with the Holy Spirit to prayerfully identify any lies that might have taken root in your heart as a young child. Make a list of these lies because we’ll use them in future steps.

#3 – Choose To Forgive

As you learned in step two, lies come in through wounds to cause pain. More often than not, these wounds come through people. Sometimes the wounds are intentional like rape, robbery, or speaking negatively. Regardless of how the wounds entered, all wounds cause us to feel pain and even trauma.

In order for a physical wound to go away it must heal. The same is true for the emotional wounds in our hearts and Jesus made a way for our hearts to heal through forgiveness! Forgiveness is to the cuts in our hearts as ointment is to a cut on our physical body.

What Is Forgiveness?

Forgiveness is a choice, not a feeling. Jesus forgave every sin on the cross. Joyce Meyer says it best, “Holding unforgiveness is like you drinking rat poison, hoping that the other person will die.” When you choose to hold on to unforgiveness the only one who suffers is you!

Choosing to forgive doesn’t mean that what was done to you was ok. It also doesn’t mean that you have to let that person back in your life. Forgiveness is healing the pain of the wound. It’s how unhealthy roots are removed.

Step 3 Activation:
Take some time with the Holy Spirit to make a list of anyone you need to forgive. You might also need to forgive yourself too. Once you have your list go through each name using the prayer below:

Father, thank You for forgiving me for all my sins. I choose forgive (name) for (list what happened or didn’t happen) and I choose to release them to You. I hand my pain over to You and ask You to heal my heart. Amen.

#4 – Break Agreement

Now that you’ve chosen to forgive and the wounds and pain are being healing in your heart it’s time to get rid of the lies. The enemy can only torment us with his lies if we are in agreement with them.  You can step into freedom by breaking agreement with lies.

Step 3 Activation:
With your list of lies in hand, use the prayer below to break agreement with the lies.

I nail to the cross the lie (name the lie) and I break any agreements I’ve made with the lies, known or unknown. Jesus, I ask that you take this lie away from me, never to return.

Jesus, what truth do you want to give me in return?

Write down each truth Jesus gives you in exchange for the lies. Breaking agreement with the lies will set you free, but meditating and memorize the truths Jesus gives you is what will keep you free!!!

What Next?

Here are two simple formulas to remind you how to access freedom – 1) The Pain of Wounds > Lies Rooting In Your Heart > Unhealthy Trees Growing and 2) Healing Wounds > Replacing Lies with Truth > Freedom.

Freedom can come in a moment, but is often a process. You can use these steps at any time and any place to break free, not only from destructive habits, but from any unwanted behaviors or feelings that do not line up with the Word of God.

Finally, celebrate what God has done for you as you are breaking destructive habits in your life!!!

Divine Interruptions – When God Disrupts Your Hell

Addiction is a beast, and it robbed my life for many years. Cocaine, pills, marijuana, alcohol, it did not matter, as long as it numbed the pain and shame from the trauma and fear. I wanted to die so many times but was too afraid. There was deep desperation from the core of my being to know love and find purpose.

Lost and Broken

Pregnant at 18 years of age, lost and broken, I walked down the aisle to marry my baby’s father. He promised me love, but that quickly shattered. After my son was born, I dove hard back into my addictions. Waking up daily from blackouts, unable to remember what I had done the previous night, was extremely common. I could not function without drugs and alcohol, and they became the numbing agents to help me survive life. Every day, at noon, I began drinking and did not stop until I passed out. In the morning, I had addicts remorse, wondering what I had done the night before and who had put my two young children to bed. My husband and I lived in complete chaos and sold drugs to feed our addiction. Every time I looked in a mirror, I cursed myself and hated the reflection staring back at me.

Spiritual Battles

As a young girl in VBS, I had received the Lord into my heart as my Savior, but through the years of pain, abuse and rejection, I stopped believing He loved me. I often cried out for help, but He didn’t respond, or so I thought. There were intense spiritual battles for my life, but I was too broken to see the truth and too blind to fight. Interestingly enough, throughout my childhood and into my addictions, I had vivid dreams and visions that would come to pass. My friends would call me a witch who had supernatural powers, which caused a greater chasm between me and my concept of God. How could I understand that dreams and visions were gifts from God and were not contingent on my behavior but His faithfulness? God was speaking to me, and I did not know. He was continually trying to get my attention, but I was spiraling out of control.

Interruptions

The funny thing about interruptions is they typically happen when least expected. One day, as I nursed another hangover, I found myself sweeping the floor, going through the motions, and the Lord interrupted my pain. Who would have thought that God would step into my chaos and release His Ruach breath over my shattered life? Certainly not me, but that is exactly what He did! As I pulled the broom out from under the cabinet, a small cassette tape that I had never seen before came out with the dirt. Perplexed by the title “Radically Saved” by Carman, a Christian singer, I decided to listen. The words pierced my heart! There was a yearning from deep within my soul that I was unable to grasp. Unbeknownst to me at the time, the spiritual atmosphere in my house and my life was shifting. Something deep within me hungered for the truth of these words.

Radically Saved

“Jesus healed the blind man made him see, cast demons out of the man from Nazarene, cleansed the leapers too, he made the lame brand new, he put hope back in a hopeless life, I testify to you: I’ve been delivered, I’ve been delivered, the hold the devil had on me, he ain’t no more; I’ve been delivered, I’ve been delivered by the hand of the Lord.” (lyrics by Carman)

Could this be true? Could the Lord deliver me from my daily hell? I could not comprehend where this music came from or how it ended up in my house. Immediately I felt something inside telling me to shut it off, but another feeling, deep in my soul, was drawn to the words, I left it playing. God was interrupting my chaos with his divine destiny. He was leaving the 99 and going after the one – me.

The psalmist declared in his word, “Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. (Psalm 139:7-8),

Breaking Addiction

I had made my bed in hell through addiction, and God’s presence disrupted hell’s plans for my life. Through a series of providential setups following this incident, the Lord radically set me free from drugs and alcohol, and today I have nearly 30 years sober. I have fully surrendered to God, and He has taken all my pain and all my ugly and turned it into beauty. Fear and shame are no longer strongholds in my life. The Spirit of God has thoroughly wiped away the residue from all abuse. My scars are a powerful reminder of His beautiful grace and mercy!

What the enemy meant for evil and my destruction, the Lord intervened and turned it for good. He took my shattered life and gave me joy and purpose. I now minister to thousands of women in prisons, strip clubs, churches, and the streets. I shine the light of Christ in the darkest places to help others find hope, healing, and freedom. My life is full of joy and purpose.

Nobody is beyond the love of God! Cry out for those in your life who are in bondage. Pray and believe for the Lord to intervene, for He is the God of the impossible! There is power in the name of Jesus Christ, which breaks chains, destroys bondages, and sets the captives free!

Prayer Over Addiction

Father, we cry out on behalf of every person in our life suffering from addictions. We speak the name of Jesus, the name above every other name, the name that destroys every principality, every demon, and every work of darkness. We declare that Your Kingdom will come here on earth, in their lives, as it is heaven. There is nothing impossible for You. No addiction is too big or too complicated for You. We cry out for Your divine interruptions in their lives, and we decree FREEDOM, in the mighty name of Jesus!

What Happens When You Share a Testimony

Have you ever been in a hopeless situation? Have you wished that someone would help you pull through your dark and difficult time? Sometimes just hearing an inspiring testimony shared by someone is all it takes to give us that push, and a motivation to hope again. I experienced this myself. I remember when watching a testimony shared by someone on a CBN programme, it sparked mountain moving faith in me and totally changed my life.

Facing the Dark Night of the Soul

If you have been at the receiving end of relentless spiritual warfare you will understand how dark, gloomy and hopeless life can be during such a phase. There was a time when intense spiritual warfare had robbed my family of our blessings and I encountered losses personally too. I looked for answers but didn’t find any at that time.

While working for CBN I happened to watch the testimony story of Vikram Shinde. This testimony shared by Vikram showed that the power of God was higher and greater than all the power the enemy holds. In his testimony, Vikram shared how his parents made every effort and even did witchcraft and took him to tantriks to get him to give up his faith in Jesus. He was forced to go with his parents and made had to sit in those ceremonies, but he prayed and asked God to protect him.

The Truth brings Light and Hope!

The wonderful thing about this testimony is that the tantrik told Vikram’s parents to stop what they were doing because it was affecting his business! He acknowledged that the power that was protecting Vikram was far higher than all the powers he had! When I heard Vikram say this it blew my mind!

Our God is so powerful that all the power of the enemy could not stop Him! I was so happy that it inspired me to write a song affirming the Power of the Blood of Jesus! The song just came to me immediately. You can find the lyrics of the same song at this link – click here

My life has changed completely after knowing that we have an Invincible God! Ever since that time I am able to face the challenges of life with more faith, power and strength knowing God is taking care of things for me, no matter what comes against me!

The Power of a Testimony

Are you struggling with an issue that makes you feel hopeless and powerless? Do you feel that you cannot rise above this impossible situation? I have good news for you! Our God is so awesome, that even impossible things are possible for Him! If you don’t know anyone who can inspire you to grow in faith, I would advise you to watch testimonies shared by people who received miracles and answers to prayer on God TV, CBN and other Christian programmes.

The Bible says in Hebrews 13:8 that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever“. The Word also says in Acts 10:34 that “Peter opened his mouth and said: Most certainly and thoroughly I now perceive and understand that God shows no partiality and is no respecter of persons.”

Do you need a miracle?

You can have a miracle too!

The truth is that what God has done for others He will do it for you too. Matthew 9:29 says, “Then He touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you.” Faith in the power of Jesus is the only requirement God is asking of you so He can give  you your miracle. 

Matthew 24: 14 says, “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”

If you are a person who doesn’t know Jesus personally, then the first step to receiving your miracle is getting to know Jesus. Jeremiah 29:13 says, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Seek Him and have faith in Him, He will not let you down!

The Power of Sharing a Testimony

Do you have a Testimony?

Matthew 24: 14 says, “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” The Lord makes it clear that the Gospel will be preached to the whole world through testimonies! 1 Peter 3:15 says, “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”

2 Timothy 4:5 Peter says to the disciples of Jesus, “But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist.”  

Matthew 5:16 says, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” We were not given precious gifts by God to hide them! God asks us to use them and shine so that others may see our good works and know Who He is!

Write down the Bible verses and promises from the Word of God that they claimed to receive their miracle. Watch a few more testimonies, it will encourage you and build up your faith even more. Follow their example and claim the same promises and ask God confidently to do a miracle for you too! May your faith rise up so you can have mountain moving faith and receive your miracle!

Share your testimony!

If you have a testimony. Don’t keep it to yourself. There are many people who are suffering from problem situations all around. You are blessed since you know the Living God who sent His only Son to die so you could live. A lot of people do not know Jesus personally as their Savior and they do not know how much He loves them. Sharing your testimony gives them hope, edifies and encourages them to seek the Lord for their own problems and impossible situations.

When we share what we experienced, no one can refute it. It doesn’t matter if anyone doesn’t agree with or believe what we believe. Those who cannot bring themselves to believe the Truth have no idea about God’s goodness or His love for them. However, since we have really received many miraculous answers to prayer, we can’t stop sharing what our Lord has done for us.

Those who are suffering now need our help… they need to know they are not alone and that there is hope for them. Perhaps it is a stranger… The Lord wants us to be a source of blessing and encouragement to those who are suffering and struggling in their lives.
