Jessica Hurlbut shared a testimony about how her 4-year-old daughter miraculously swam during an accident while saving her son.
Saving The Drowning Brother
Jessica Hurlbut is a wife and a mom who is very passionate about sharing the love of God through their family’s story.
One of the stories she shared was when she almost lost her son and daughter in just one day.
“August of 2018, I almost lost my son and daughter in one day. My family was visiting a 350-foot waterfall. My oldest asked to walk across the rocks, slid, and slipped in. My younger son jumped in to help—except he couldn’t swim. He began pushing my older son under the water to leverage himself to breathe,” she recalled.
4-Year-Old Daughter Miraculously Swam
Jessica didn’t waste any time and tried to save her kids. “I jumped in to tear the two apart and instructed my oldest to swim to shore,” she said.
But that’s when her 4-year-old daughter jumped as well.
“During the commotion, my 4 year old daughter jumped in to “help.” I now had 2 kids drowning and I couldn’t save them both. So, I turned my back on my daughter and stopped my son and swam to the shore. I turned around and discovered my daughter miraculously swimming with her little nose above the surface.

“That night, I couldn’t sleep. I complained to God, “No parent should have to choose one child to rescue and turn their back on the other.”
And in the darkness, He replied, “I know the feeling,”” Jessica recalled.
Testimony
She wondered how God, the Father, felt when Jesus was dying on the cross. And because of His great love for us, Jesus made a decision to be the Lamb and became the greatest sacrifice.
Jessica could relate to that, even though many people in the comment section questioned her parenting.
But one person had a similar experience and testified as well that God’s miracles are true: “You should hear my story.. I allowed my husband to go fishing with my son, who was 3 at the time. While I was home, I had a sudden urge of something scary happening. I knew it wasn’t me. I knew it had to do with my husband and kid because I told him to buy a life jacket even if he was on shore with our son. Did he listen? Nope. He wanted to save money.”
“I decided to pray because I knew that if anything bad was happening, no one would pick up the phone and I wouldn’t be able to have my answer. So right away, when I had that bad feeling in my gut, I started praying. When my heart felt relieved, I stopped praying. I called my husband just to find out our 3-year-old son jumped into the water, not knowing he would drown. My husband jumped into the water with him, and he can’t swim well.”
“He said he saw a hand pull him up. By the time he got out of the water, his friends just made it to the dock where they were drowning. Miracles happen. I had lots of miracles happen for my family. I thank Jesus regardless if people don’t acknowledge his presence and think he is just some folk tale. Jesus is real.”
