Learning to find satisfaction with little begins with choosing Jesus as your life source. We live in a time and with a need for true satisfaction. God’s word teaches us that Jesus satisfies our longing souls.
Satisfied with little, finding rest
“The fear of the Lord leads to life, and whoever has it rests satisfied; he will not be visited by harm.” (Proverbs 19:23)
A fear and reverence for the Lord aligns us with God’s will for our lives. It is in putting Him first, refusing to compare ourselves to others or resent our circumstances, that our souls become satisfied with little. When we intentionally focus on connecting with Jesus daily, allowing Him to speak into our lives, everything in us can relax.
Our honest hearts before the Father are all He needs. Many times, what we truly need is to come before Him and listen. This may look like prayer, journaling, or just becoming still and aware of His presence. If you’ve found yourself restless in your life, consider where the posture of your heart has been. Has is sought after His presence? Or has it been chasing a dozen other things? Finding satisfaction in little begins with an opened heart toward His presence and direction.
Keeping your heart tender
Something beautiful happens inside of us when our souls are truly at rest. Our hearts and minds soften. We forget the worries and woes of our circumstances. While they may persist, they can no longer steal our joy. It becomes something stronger than anything we face on this earth. Authentic love of Jesus comes from our persistence to spend time with Him.
“For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things.” (Psalm 107:9)
“You open your hand; you satisfy the desire of every living thing.” (Psalm 145:16)
