Welcoming delegates to the conference last night, GOD TV CEO, Ward Simpson shared how much his life has been changed through revival in the past and how we need a new move of God to come to the UK, the USA and to the nations. “Father breathe on your people, open doors, break yokes, make righteous judgements on our behalf. What are the Courts of Heaven
Every court of law has a similar purpose and that is to judge and then deliver a verdict on any given situation. The same applies to the Courts of Heaven where God judges our situations and depending on the outcome, justice is meted out.
When a natural court is in session, there are petitions and arguments set before the judge. Based on these he or she will then determine the verdict. In God’s Heavenly Courts He is the Judge and He issues the judgements based on the arguments that are presented.
The Courts of Heaven stand in judgement and either mercy is found or the wrath of God is poured out, yet they are also a place where breakthrough comes for believers.
Bringing your petition
When you have a major situation worthy of court action then you bring your petition to be heard. In the Courts of Heaven, we petition using the infallible Word of God. Every Word in the Bible has been declared to be God-breathed and therefore holds the maximum value in God’s Heavenly Courts.
Therefore, before taking your petition to the Courts of Heaven it is wise to take some time to gather relevant scriptures that will support your arguments, that come straight from His Word. In the natural courts, solicitors gather evidence and look for any legal precedents that have already succeeded in previous court cases. These help to make a strong case for them. We must do the same before we take our case to the Courts of Heaven. The Bible is full of precedents where God has previously answered a similar petition, like healing.
Having prepared our cases, we present them to God, the Judge of the Universe. For example, if we are praying for members of our family who haven’t yet found Jesus, we bring scriptures referring to the salvation of our family. We cry out for God’s mercy and grace and believe in the power of our prayers as we petition God to bring our family members into His Kingdom.
As Matthew 18:18 says “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on Earth will be bound in Heaven”. It is in the Courts of Heaven that we bind and loose and then it will be manifested on Earth.
