A missionary group calls for all Christians to pray with them for the “safe and swift release” of a missionary pilot.
Missionary Pilot
“Ryan Koher did nothing wrong,” said David Holsten, CEO of Mission Aviation Fellowship. “I urge Christians around the world to pray for Ryan’s safety and swift release, and call on those in power both in Mozambique and here in the U.S. to do everything they can to resolve this wrongful detainment.”
Pilot Ryan Koher is affiliated with the MAF, a missionary group that uses aviation to share the love of Jesus with the isolated people.
On November 4, Ryan was supposed to deliver goods and supplies for the church-run orphanages near Montepuez, Mozambique. But, officials took interest in the over-the-counter medications and food during airport security scans. Subsequently, they arrested Ryan along with the two South Africans who were with him. They questioned the missionary team for supporting insurgents in the country.
Pray for Ryan
“His wife and children deserve to have him back home in time for Christmas,” David added. “And the organization that serves the orphans in northern Mozambique needs the supplies he was trying to deliver when he was wrongly detained.”
The three men are still in jail because of suspicion that they were supporting insurgent activity. Their destination, which is in the Northern, is apparently experiencing insurgent attacks. But truthfully, the missionary organization has been taking care of the victims of insurgency, including evacuates.
David continues to plead for Ryan’s case. He added, “Ryan is a caring and gentle individual.”
“Over the last couple of years, he and his wife have worked hard to learn the language and culture of Mozambique to better serve those who rely on our service. Understandably, this situation has been very challenging for the family. We fully believe in Ryan’s innocence. And we are all praying that this issue will be resolved very soon with the charges dismissed and Ryan released.”
Let us unite our voices with them in prayer for Ryan’s quick release today.
