You have permission to rest. Have you ever heard the word ‘Sabbath’? Yes, probably most of you have. well, God is all about rest. And in Hebrews 4:9-10 it says, “There remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.” See, God thought it was important enough that He took a day of rest after creating everything, and still to this day, God is saying, rest is important.
He is not the God of the hustle. He is the God of rest. And so my encouragement to you today is to create space to rest. If you don’t have a Sabbath, if you don’t have a day where you just get to rest, you get to be with Him, you get to enjoy just the things He’s put inside of you, start now because He will provide everything you need. He will provide the finances, He will provide the time if you just give Him your day.
And so for those of you that are weary from hustling, you’re feeling burnt out, I just want to pray for you. So God, I ask that you would release your Sabbath rest over these people, that they would feel your peace and that they would respond to your invitation of a Sabbath. And God, I ask that you would provide everything they need above and beyond as they rest in you. Thank you, God. Amen.
