Pastor Craig Groeschel, senior pastor of Life.Church, baptized more than 2,000 people over the weekend. The massive celebration led him to declare that the church is no longer praying for revival, for “we’re in the middle of one.”
Life.Church Baptized 2,000 People
Life.Church and its 40-plus campuses had simultaneous water baptisms across all campuses. They broadcasted it during their Sunday worship service.
Many have gathered around the church’s large facility pool, while others utilized their bathtubs at home.
Sam Marin, one of Life.Church’s pastors said, “Today is a good day because today at all of our Life.Church locations and all over the world at Life Church online, we’re baptizing people.”
He continued, “Symbolizing when we put them under the water, that their guilt, their sins, their shame, has been buried in the watery grave.”
From young to old, people patiently took their turn to declare their faith in Christ. After the last person was immersed in the water, everyone cheered and praised God.
Pastor Craig Groeschel
Pastor Craig claimed the number of baptisms that day is the church’s record. He admitted that he got emotional as he looked back on their first baptism.
He shared, “I looked over, and I saw Mary, who was with us in our first church baptism. When I think we baptized five people. And here we are, over a quarter of a century later. This is a record weekend that our church has the honor of celebrating with over 2,000 people being baptized.”
Pastor Craig continued, “Can you feel the Presence of God, the power of God? He’s moving in this place. We’re not praying for revival. We’re in the middle of one. I thank God for what He’s doing.”
Moreover, he urged people not to miss what God is doing because “He’s doing a big thing.”
