NBA player, Jonathan Isaac, silently struggled with anxiety and panic attacks until coaches discovered his secret.
Unbeknownst to everyone, Jonathan wasn’t that kind of person before he met Jesus. He was a fearful person who merely lived up to everyone’s expectations. And this is what he testified in his new book, “Why I Stand.” The NBA player remarked how it was a surprise to everyone who knew him as a boy to defy such a controversial matter at the time.

Apparently, Jonathan suffered anxiety as a boy, fearing not being accepted when they moved to Florida. And because of his fear, he joined the basketball just to fit in. Soon, the young basketball player captured the attention of college scouts. But even with his achievements as an athlete, he suffered from feelings of “intense fear of failure.”

“I always just felt insignificant and always having to work for somebody else’s approval. Or somebody else’s love,” he recalled.
Later on, Jonathan became a full scholar at Florida State University. But his anxieties never left him behind the scenes. Until the time came, he got accepted by the Orlando Magic team. Instead of celebrating, his anxieties and panic attacks only got worse. Not until he met Jesus.
1 Peter 5:6-7 – “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.“
