The Christian band MercyMe debuts their newest song “Say I Won’t” for a family friend who lost his limbs after falling to septic shock in January this year.
Music with a purpose, this is what the multi-platinum band and named Billboard’s Top Christian Artist of the 2010s MercyMe is doing with their newest music video in the single “Say I Won’t.”

MercyMe took the inspiration for “Say I Won’t” from a story of a close friend. It highlights hope amidst new beginnings of seeing life through a different lens. And although there are things one would say he can’t do, God is always there reminding you that you can.

Here are some of the lyrics of the song:
“Not enough
Is what I’ve been told
But it must be a lie
Cause the Spirit inside says I’m so much more
So let them say what they want
Oh I dare them to try
I’m gonna run
No I’m gonna fly
I’m gonna know what it means to live
And not just be alive
The world’s gonna hear
Cause I’m gonna shout
And I will be dancing when circumstances drown the music out
Say I won’t”
The Miracle Guy Behind The Song
Gary Miracle is the guy behind the Christian band’s newest debut music video. Twenty-five years ago, he was the first merchandising representative and bus driver for the band. He is also a close family friend for 20 years.
Lead singer Bart Millard told Fox News, “It’s incredibly overwhelming to see Gary’s situation but to watch his wife and kids and what they’re going through. And standing by and supporting him is mind-blowing. And it feels like it’s a whole other level of love and it’s a crazy story.”
“It’s heartbreaking for anyone and Gary is such a great dude,” he added.
In the music video, you can see Gary putting on his prosthetic arms for the first time. It also recorded video clips of him learning to write again. In the end, he put up a note declaring he will one day walk again.
