Louie Giglio gave a profound revelation about the donkey Jesus was riding during his triumphal entry into Jerusalem.

The director of the Passion Movement, Louie Giglio, shared a beautiful reminder with his congregation. In a special Easter sermon, he talked about Jesus riding on a donkey. According to him, the King of kings wasn’t coming with a stallion or a royal escort. Instead, He rode on a donkey. To help visualize this, someone brought in a donkey named Bruno on the stage. Then, he explained that Jesus entered the city of Jerusalem on a donkey to fulfill a prophecy that was written centuries before.
Aside from that, he added that there was something else powerful in the fact that Jesus chose a donkey.
He mentioned, “Every donkey has a marking on its back, including Bruno. And if you didn’t know, every single donkey has a cross on its back.” This was also true of the donkey that Jesus rode in on.
He Was Riding On A Cross
Furthermore, he elaborated, “Jesus knew he wasn’t riding into Jerusalem to be crowned. He was riding into Jerusalem to be crucified, to give His life for the sins of the world. He wasn’t just riding to the cross, He was riding on a cross.” For him, it meant that when the people back then cried out ‘Hosanna! Save us!’ to Jesus, He already knew that He would save them by dying on the cross.
Moreover, he also highlighted that amid the Easter celebration was the crucifixion of the One who is now alive. “This is the gospel. Jesus died for our sins, but He was raised to give us everlasting life. This is what we find in Romans chapter 4. It says, ‘He was handed over to die because of our sins and He was raised to life to make us right with God.’ He died for our sins. Raised to give us life,” he emphasized.
