Lindsay Willis warned believers about delighting in the desires they are asking from God rather than the Blesser Himself.
Chasing Winds
In a world where people value status, prestige, and success, it’s easy to lose sight of what matters most to God. Sometimes, individuals dream big dreams and pursue their goals and ambitions in search of fulfillment. However, many find themselves trapped in a cycle of discontentment despite achieving their worldly desires. Sadly, some even experience depression despite reaching their dreams and aspirations.
People’s desires in this world cannot truly satisfy them because ultimate satisfaction can only be found in God. Regardless of their pursuits or efforts, nothing can fill the void except God. Neither wealth, societal status, nor worldly accomplishments can quench the human longing for love and acceptance until they encounter Jesus Christ.

When a person meets Christ, life suddenly gains purpose and clarity. Christ restores hope to those who have lost their way, guiding them towards righteousness. Their desires become aligned with God’s perfect will. However, at times, Christians become so fixated on blessings that they lose sight of God and become overly focused on earthly rewards.
An Advice From Lindsay Willis
Lindsay Willis shared with the ‘Talking Church Podcast‘ the danger that can arise when a believer begins to delight in their desires more than in God.
“Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart,” she said. “The mistake we make is when we start delighting in our desires rather than in God. And we pay the price for that because He’ll honor our choices, even though it brings incredible pain into our lives. But if we choose to obey and bear the cost, then the rewards that He pours into life have no comparison.”
