Colton went to church as a child but later quit following Jesus to go partying in high school. Before Jesus came to him and told him to come home, he was on his worst behavior.
His Story
Colton started sneaking into music events to substances and party as a hobby. He was with his girlfriend at one of the music events he went to and had easy access to all the drugs he could want.
“I mean this should have been Paradise for my person back then,” he said.
But it turned out to be the darkest moment of his life. Depression, paranoia, and anxiety became so real to him and everything was coming to him all at once. After 2 hours of taking drugs, Colton began to hear a familiar lie that the devil used against him. He heard the words, “Everybody around you hates you.”
‘Come Home’
“That was one lie that really shut me down and put me in a dark place. And so we’re two hours into using this drug and the devil lied and he said, ‘Everyone around you hates you and they have good reason to.’ I believed every bit of those words and that put me in a place of breakdown,” Colton recalled.

He began to have a mental breakdown. At the festival, everyone was having fun while Colton was sitting behind the tree facing the other direction, in the fetal position. He was listening to an old EDM song because he thought it would heal him. Then, he called his girlfriend and was planning to get intimate with her at the tent when he heard another lie from the devil.
He Left the ‘Party Lifestyle’ & Taking Substance When Jesus Told Him to ‘Come Home’
“We got about 10 meters outside of the tent and the devil hit me with another lie. Another extreme fear. It was the fear that I was or was becoming homosexual. And the devil said if, ‘You go in that tent, she’s going to find out that you’re homosexual,’” Colton recalled.
He wept tremendously as he believed everything that was spoken to him. Then all of a sudden, he experienced a different kind of feeling.
“My thoughts were very organized, my life flashed before my eyes, and all of my sin was laid before me,” he recalled. “And it goes back to [that] moment when I was in that truck on the way to smoke weed the first time, and I broke up with God.”
After that moment, Colton went back to his ways but he knew there was something different. And through his mother, he heard Jesus say, “Come home,” while looking straight into his eyes.
