Lifestyle mogul and mom, Kourtney Kardashian, recently sat down with her pastors, Chad and Julia Veach, to talk about raising kids in faith.
“We grew up always hearing Bible stories. My dad always read us Bible stories.” Kourtney reminisces about her father, the late Robert Kardashian, a famous attorney and devout Christian. The Kardashian family became a household name with the reality TV show Keeping Up with the Kardashians catapulting a young Kourtney into a life of instant fame and an ever present spotlight.
Kourtney, now a a mother or three young children, is looking to pass on the legacy of faith to her own family. On her YouTube lifestyle channel, Poosh, Kourtney invited her pastors, Chad and Julia Veach, of Zoe Church to her home to get their advice on how to incorporate faith into your every day conversations with kids.
“So I just wonder if there’s something you guys do, or that’s really important to you, like routines or things that you do with your own family that could be helpful?”
Chad answered by sharing their own morning routine with their young kids.
“Even on the drive to school every morning as I’m getting ready to drop off my son I’m like ‘Alright, I’m going to pray over you and remember, you’re a leader in your school and people follow you and I’m going to pray that you are a light on your campus.”
As pastors of a young vibrant church in LA, Chad and Julia are mentors and spiritual advisers to a number of Christian celebrities such as Justin and Hailey Bieber and Chris Pratt. The couple balance leading a fast growing congregation with two campuses and raising four children in the only way they know how… by leaning on God. Julia had some great advice for Kourtney.
“I think like with a lot of things, like culture and our faith it’s more caught than it is taught. So yeah we want to teach things but a lot of time the kids are this is what they do, this is who we are.”
“You invest in kids so much and just the fact that you want to teach them faith, they’ll learn faith,” Chad encouraged.
The episode wrapped up with Chad praying for Kourtney, blessing her children, and asking the Lord to continue guiding her.
