She is a singer and a songwriter who uses her talents for the glory of God. Koryn is a gospel and contemporary Christian music performer from the United States. At the age of 17, she competed in the finals of the eighth season of the singing competition The Voice on NBC.
After finishing fourth in the competition, she was signed to RCA Inspiration, a Sony Music segment that releases gospel music records. On July 13, 2018, she released her first studio album, Unstoppable. It garnered many awards, including two Grammy nominations.

Her second album is “I AM.” Koryn Hawthorne believes, “I Am is who God called me to be. I’m very big on purpose, very big on identity. With my first album I was figuring out who I was as an artist. Now I’m more confident in who I am.”
Cry by Koryn Hawthorne
Recently, Koryn shared her mother’s testimony on Instagram. Her newly released song, ‘Cry,’ was playing in the background.
The lyrics goes:
I know how it feels
When you can’t pay your bills
Enough to have you feeling like giving up
Life lately been going downhill
I know that you can’t see the light
But the light is always near, oh-oh, oh-oh
And I know God said
“There’s no need to have fear”

He’ll turn your pain into rest
Right in front of your eyes
He’ll give all your lost back
Double up the size
It don’t matter where you at, it’ll be alright
It don’t matter where you at, I can testify
He’ll fill your tank when you’re on E
He won’t leave you dry
He’ll turn your stones into steps
Have you stepping right (step, step, step)
It don’t matter where you at, it’ll be all right
But in the meantime know that it’s okay to cry
It’s okay to cry
Cry
‘Cause life gets hard sometimes
Sometimes
It’s okay to cry
Cry
Your feeling is valid
Sometimes tear’s the only outlet, hmm
Her Teenage Mother Was Restored By God
Koryn shared her mother’s testimony. While they were both enjoying her newly released song playing in the background, the video’s caption was written:
“She was a teen mom. God restores.
She was a victim of domestic violence. God heals.
She was a single mother of two working jobs. God provides.
She was unstable, living from house to house. God provides!
She is a rheumatoid lupus survivor and we are believing in God for full healing.”
