Christian author and speaker Joyce Meyer proposed seven ways to simplify people’s relationships. These practical steps could be beneficial to individuals who are struggling to manage their relationships.
Friends
Making friends is wonderful, particularly within a church community. This connection fosters safe environments for believers to grow holistically. These close relationships are rewarding initially, but they can become challenging when personal issues emerge. At that point, one can only manage a few friendships effectively. Sometimes, individuals overlook the risks involved in trying to be everyone’s close friend. Unintentionally, this urge may stem from the satisfaction of people-pleasing and gratifying one’s own ego.

7 Ways To Simplify Your Relationships
Joyce Meyer cautioned about the pitfalls of attempting to be close friends with everyone without careful consideration. Consequently, she proposed seven ways to make relationships more manageable for everyone.
First, she remarked, “don’t try to be everybody’s best friend.” Joyce explained “that one person can only manage properly three really good close friends. So, when you try to be everybody’s best friend, you usually end up not being a very good friend to anybody.”
The author explained how individuals often have someone they love, appreciate, and are acquainted with. However, when it comes to close relationships, they truly require time and effort.
Secondly, Joyce said, “don’t expect people to never hurt or disappoint you. Because they will.” Thirdly, she said, “don’t get overly involved in other people’s business.”
“Some of you are all stressed out right now over somebody else’s problem,” she explained. “Don’t you have enough of your own?”
“Number four, don’t give advice to people that don’t want,” she continued. “Number five, compliment people 100 times more than you criticize them. And number six, say ‘I’m sorry.’ Number seven, always believe the best of every person in every situation.”
