Ryan Miller discussed the common message found in Job’s life and Solomon’s books. He claimed that it is one of the main points of the Bible.
Job’s life and Solomon’s message
According to Ryan, there is one lesson in the Bible that is so important that “God devotes two whole books to it.”
The first book is about a man who loses everything. The other one is about a man who gains everything. But the interesting part is that at the end of it all, these two men realized the same thing. Ryan said, “[They] said the same thing for how we’re supposed to live our lives.”
These great men of God were Job and Solomon.
“Solomon went on this wild pursuit of happiness mission where he tried everything in this life,” Ryan narrated. “He had wives, he had money, he had stuff, he drank, he partied everything.”
“And then Job, on the other hand, lost everything. He experienced suffering. He experienced his family being killed. Everything bad that could happen to a person happened to Job.”
He continued, “Both Solomon and Job, at the end of their books, had the same message, which is this: The only thing valuable in this life, whether you have a lot or you have nothing, is to know God deeply and to walk with Him daily. That’s it.”
Ryan believes that outside of knowing God, nothing else matters. He quoted Ecclesiastes 1:14, which says, “I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and indeed, all is vanity and grasping for the wind.”
“Everything else is meaningless,” he said. “It’s all vanity. It’s all grasping after the wind. It won’t satisfy your soul.”
“So, go and walk with Jesus. Root your identity in Him and live an incredibly joy-filled life.”
