Hollywood artist Jimmy Levy released a new song that commemorates the day that he attempted suicide and experienced God’s redemption.

Jimmy is a Hollywood songwriter, producer, and artist who appeared on American Idol as a contestant in 2010. Over the past few years, he has released numerous songs including his chart-topping singles, “Faith Over Fear” and “Take the Lead.” Prior to being a Christian artist, Jimmy had lived a very worldly life as was drawn into the Hollywood culture.
After experiencing fame and wealth at a very young age, he fell into partying, alcohol, and drugs. His life quickly drifted away until he felt consumed by the pain and emptiness in his heart. On his 21st birthday, he tried to put an end to his life by drowning himself in a pool.

Suicidal Attempt
For months, he had planned his passing. The 25-year-old artist even planned to release a song that portrayed him as a ghost at his funeral. He was already underwater when his mom came home, hearing his mom’s voice saved him.
After his first failed attempt, he tried to take his life again by taking a bunch of pills and drinking tequila. He then saw his friend’s car’s light on his bedroom window as he arrived to pick him up for a surprise birthday party. Everyone was celebrating his birthday but he was celebrating his survival.
New Song “Amen”
After seven hours of taking the pills, he threw them all up. He knew it was God who saved him that night!
“EVERY SINGLE PILL that I took came out. Nothing dissolved in 7 hours! That was God!”
Jimmy’s newly released song “Amen” commemorates that night and how God saved him!
