The hit faith-based film “Jesus Revolution” hit $50 million at the box office over the Easter weekend.

Co-director Jon Erwin noted that it’s “an unbelievable landmark for any movie.” “Jesus Revolution” is a popular faith-based movie about the great Jesus movement during the 1960s and the 1970s. The film finished at No. 10 at the box office after earning $50 million on Friday.
It was released on February 24, debuted at No. 3, and stayed at the Top 10 for six straight weeks. Jon credited God’s timing for the success of the film. It was just so timely that the film was released during the Asbury Revival and other outpourings of the Holy Spirit.
“When you think about the Asbury revivals and The Chosen and Super Bowl [He Gets Us] commercials and all these things,” he said during a Zoom prayer call.

Box Office
Jon also expressed how he hoped that this film will continue the spark of revival that is happening around the world.
“The right story can change people’s lives if you tell it well,” he said. “… My hope is that all the chatter about revival will continue.”
The Christian community has “once again shocked the system and shocked the industry. And prove that we are an enormous underserved and hungry audience for the content.”
Film creators announced that “Jesus Revolution” will be available on DVD / Blu-ray on April 25. This will be a special feature that will include audio commentary with Jon Erwin, Brent McCorkle, and Kevin Downes, and some behind-the-scenes videos.
