Jackie Hill Perry shared a powerful message with all listeners of the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN). She emphasized that true self-discovery does not come from following the world’s teachings on uncovering and understanding oneself. Instead, it comes from seeing God, allowing people to realize their true identity.

In an interview with the Christian network, Jackie sat down and shared about the power of being in God’s presence. The speaker and author said, “In the presence of God, everything that is unlike Him, becomes obvious. That’s why people don’t read their Bible sometimes. That’s why people stay out of church because even being around holy folks can reveal your sinful nature, right?”
She then referred to 1 John 1:5 to explain her point, “God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all.”

“God is light; in Him, is no sin at all. There is no darkness in Him,” she said. “Meaning that around God, Isaiah had no choice but to be honest with himself.”
See God
Jackie was discussing Isaiah 6, where Isaiah saw the LORD Almighty with his own eyes. The prophet couldn’t help but despair over his sinful nature in the presence of the Holy God.
Isaiah 6:5 says, “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.”
“I think that’s the fascinating part,” she continued. “Some of the books today that are really popular and sell a lot of copies is that they have presumed that to become better people, we need to learn about ourselves. But Isaiah, by seeing God, is when he saw himself.”
“So what we really need is more education about the nature of God. And by doing so, we’ll see ourselves rightly.”
