David Diga Hernandez provides Bible-backed truths in answering the question, “Is the Holy Spirit God?”
Is the Holy Spirit God?
“Is the Holy Spirit God?” This is one of the most asked questions addressed to Christians. Many assume that the Holy Spirit is just a force or power, and not a being. To help fellow believers answer, David explores the Holy Spirit’s attributes as written in the Bible and compares them with God’s. He listed three sure attributes and provided Bible verses proving that the Holy Spirit is indeed God. According to David, remembering this list will help Christians explain if someone would ask them if the Holy Spirit is God.
- The Holy Spirit is Omnipresent.
“Where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your Presence? If I go up to the heavens, You are there. If I make my bed in the depths, You are there.” Psalm 139: 7-8 - The Holy Spirit is Omniscient.
“These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:10-11 - The Holy Spirit is Omnipotent.
David shared, “The Holy Spirit’s power is equated with the power of the Most High. Thus, the Holy Spirit is omnipotent.”
“The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.” Luke 1:35
Studying the given passages, one can surely say that the Holy Spirit is God. He is omnipresent, all-knowing, and all-powerful.
David said, “The Holy Spirit is omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent. Therefore, the Holy Spirit is God.”
