An Indiana pastor finds healing in God from his trauma of divorce.
Indiana Pastor
In 2011, Pastor Jonathan Miller got legally separated from his wife because of their differences that could never be resolved. After his divorce, the people in his church and in his community turned away from him and condemned him.
“I felt pain in a way I have never felt before… Got married and didn’t understand what marriage was… I went through a divorce and it was devastating,” he recalled.

Pastor Jonathan Miller
Because of his love for the Church and the people, he still continued to function for the ministry. He kept on preaching, ministering, praying, and counseling despite being in pain on the inside. The church should be the place of healing but for pastor Jonathan, it became a place of judgment & condemnation.
“Going through these traumatic experiences shut me down,” he testified.
Dealing with trauma
In 2013, he planned to resign from pastoring but before he processed his resignation, a famous preacher called him to check on him. And that preacher gave him advice that completely changed his situation.
“You have to disconnect yourself from thinking that the Church is your wife. That’s God’s bride, you’re losing sleep over another Man’s woman. You are His vessel, submit yourself as a vessel. Stop worrying about who’s going to heaven, and who’s going to hell, that ain’t your job. You preach and then you go home.”
Realizing that he stopped letting God be his God, he came to his best friend to ask for help from him to deal with his trauma. He dealt with his trauma and now, he is a completely healed man who continues pastoring his church. For those who have not yet received healing, pastor Jonathan encourages them to deal with their trauma and pain because Jesus came for us to find rest for our souls.
