A husband encountered God when he was at a loss of hope for his dying wife. Just when he thought everything was over, God met him in the hospital hallway.
Terrifying Experience
In his viral Facebook post, Dawson shared his thoughts while he was looking at his dying wife, Jackie. He recounted that his wife had an emergency C-section and had lost a lot of blood during the operation. The medical team called “code blue,” which meant that his wife was having trouble breathing.
Dawson tried to be strong and smiled at Jackie, hoping it would give her strength. But all the while, his thoughts were spiraling to many “what ifs” and “if onlys.”
He did not try to pray because he thought God wouldn’t listen. He wasn’t a “good” Christian. But he could only utter a silent prayer, “God, please don’t take her home.”
The nurses brought him to another room with his newborn son. But it was hard to celebrate his son because of his wife’s condition.
Then, he was met by his family and mom while waiting for news about Jackie. When his mom asked him about Jackie, he cried and only said, “I don’t know.”
“I was lying,” Dawson recalled. “I knew she was in really bad shape.”
Husband encountered God
After a few minutes, the nurses came back, and he immediately asked them for him to see Jackie. They reluctantly said yes.
And as he was walking towards Jackie’s room, he broke down. He could no longer hold his emotions, and he was scared to the news.
Overwhelmed with so much emotion, Dawson longed for comfort. Then, God spoke.
“My son, I love you more than you can imagine. I heard you and I was there! I saw the c-section. I helped the doctors find the problem. I saw when she hemorrhaged and made sure they caught it really quick. I was waiting for you in this hallway when you wanted your Father. It’s okay to call on Me. I will always love you. Just as you asked to save your wife. I’ve been asking my Father to save yours.”
And from that moment, Dawson knew everything was going to be okay.
Today his wife and son are doing well and growing more in the love of God every day.
