It’s important to find rest in Jesus if you want to step into and live the abundant life He promises. There are so many things, good and bad, vying for our time.
How To Find Rest In Jesus
- Spend time in Bible study. This can help you connect with God and find peace and comfort in His Word.
- Pray and focus your attention on Jesus. This can help you let go of stress and worry and find rest in the present.
- Seek out fellowship with other believers. Sharing your faith and finding support in a community of believers can be a source of rest and encouragement.
- Don’t let situations and circumstances steal your peace. On a good day, the only person you can control is yourself so choose to stay connected to the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).
- Trust in God’s plan and surrender your worries and concerns to Him. This can help you find rest in the knowledge that God is in control and will take care of you.
Remember, finding rest in Jesus is a journey and may require patience and practice. It’s okay to take your time and do what works best for you as you seek to find rest in Him.
What Does The Bible Say About Rest
There are so many examples of how to find rest in Jesus in the Bible. Here are three for you to mediate on:
Matthew 11:28 – “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Psalm 91:1-6 – “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’ For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.”
Psalm 4:8 – “In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.”
