A Grandma Who Received the Holy Spirit Ninety-One Years Ago Gives an Important Reminder for Christians
She Received The Holy Spirit
Pastor Vesta Mangun shared a profound revelation about the Holy Spirit. She is part of the United Pentecostal Church and, despite her age, continues to live a life of prayer and ministry. Alongside her husband, she also pastors at the Pentecostals of Alexandria. In an interview with A Passion Approach ministry, she shared the testimony of how she received the Holy Spirit at a very young age.
Her father was preaching about the coming of the Lord when she was almost six years old. She vividly remembers the moment: “It was the last of February, and I would be six on March third.” She held on to her mother and expressed her desire to receive the Holy Spirit.
That very night, her mother prayed with her, and she received the Holy Spirit. Even at such a young age, she experienced His power. Now, 91 years later, she reflects on that moment, saying, “I’ve had the baptism of the Holy Ghost, initiated with speaking in other tongues, for 91 years.”

An Important Reminder
Though her experience was beautiful, Pastor Mangun offered an important reminder to Christians. She urged believers to remember that they are accountable for ushering in the Holy Spirit. Over the past 91 years, she has felt a responsibility for how she allowed the Holy Spirit to work through her. She realized that it’s not just about receiving the Holy Spirit but also about being accountable for the gift God has given.
“So that’s ever before me, and it’s been a driving force,” she emphasized, reflecting on the significance of the Holy Spirit in her life.
