Today’s Verse:
Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do. (James 1:22-25)
Today’s Message:
God calls us to be doers of His Word and not mere hearers only.
The difference between doers and hearers is known by the fruit they bear.
Hearers are the same as those who do not belong to Jesus. Although they recognize Jesus, they do not honor Him as Lord of their lives. Therefore, they live deceitful lives. They fool themselves into believing they love Jesus but do not obey Him.
But, doers of His Word are obedient sons and daughters of God. The more they obey, the more they live out God’s instructions of life. And the more they live it out, the closer they become to Jesus.
His Word will become a delight for those who obey because they have experienced the goodness and blessing it brings.
So, today, let us not be mere hearers only but doers of God’s Word. Shalom!
