Today’s Verses:
“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in His grace, freely makes us right in His sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when He freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed His life, shedding His blood.” Romans 3:23-25
Today’s Message:
Imagine a room where all the things you do are recorded in a card, kept inside a cabinet of drawers. Each drawer contains everything you do, including every thought and every desire.
Even the things you so carefully hide from your parents or loved ones are all written thoroughly on the card. Moreover, each card has your signed name on it.
As you go through every drawer, you feel the shame and guilt swallow you whole. You fear someone might enter the room, so you try to destroy it but to no avail.
Then, Jesus comes.
You feel helpless as He looks inside every drawer, every card, and reads every one of it.
And then the unimaginable thing happens.
Above your signed name, He overlaps it with His name – JESUS, written by the red stains flowing from His hands. He writes it to claim the cards as His own.
And through it, you are no longer charged with the punishment of your sins. You are free and new as Jesus bore the shame, guilt, destruction, and death.
Hallelujah to the Lamb who was slain! Hallelujah to the King who has risen from the death!
