Today’s Verse:
“For freedom, Christ has set us free; stand firm,, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1
Today’s Message:
Today, God wants you to know that He has made you free. His blood has broken the chains that bound you, and He has paid for your freedom. Nothing can hold you back now in fulfilling what God has destined for you – abundant life.
But sometimes, we tend to look back on our past. Like the Israelites, they complained and longed for their life back in Egypt (Numbers 11) when God had already delivered them out from slavery. Just because their current life was tiring and going towards the promised land gets challenging, they wanted to go back to Egypt even though it meant going back in bondage.

Egypt signifies our past – the bondage, slavery, and sin. The temporary joy of sin invites them back, but we should always remember that sin only brings misery. There is no real joy in sin. The moment God had set us free, we must leave our “Egypt” and continue going to our promised land. There is no turning back. We keep on going towards the finish line.
We should never forget how God has delivered us from our sins. Unlike the Israelites, who forgot how the Egyptians treated them and how God had delivered them with His mighty hand. That’s why we annually celebrate Christmas, because more than the cheer the season brings, we remember the Ultimate Gift God has given for humankind. We celebrate Christmas because we celebrate the day our Savior was born and victoriously defeated death and sin that separated us from God.
