Today’s Verse:
1 John 4:19-21, “We love because he first loved us. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.”
Today’s Message:
We cannot love God when we cannot love our neighbors. When Jesus commanded us to love God and to love our neighbors, it was not a commandment that is separate from another. Loving God and loving our neighbors are two sides of the same coin. They are inseparable.
Because when we surrendered our lives to God, we mean to live for Him and in Him. And living in God means living for others since God’s heartbeat and passion is people.
When we love God, we get to love others as a result. The overwhelming love of God compels us to overflow and love others as well.
