2 Corinthians 5:7 encourages us to trust in God’s promises and guidance, even when circumstances may seem uncertain or challenging. Walking by faith and not by sight is what we as believers are called to do.
What Does the Bible Say?
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7
Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen: “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” This scripture emphasizes that faith involves trusting in the unseen and holding onto the promises of God, even when they have not yet come to fruition. As a believer, your faith in God’s faithfulness and goodness enables you to walk confidently in His will, even when you cannot see the outcome.
Proverbs 3:5-6 advises us as believers to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding, acknowledging Him in all our ways so that He will make our paths straight: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” This scripture underscores the importance of relying on God’s wisdom and guidance, rather than relying on our own limited understanding. When you walk by faith and trust in God’s leading, He promises to direct your path and guide you in the way you should go.
Romans 1:17 declares that the righteous shall live by faith: “For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, ‘The righteous shall live by faith.'” This scripture emphasizes that a life of faith is essential for experiencing the righteousness of God. As a believer, your faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior enables you to live in alignment with God’s will and experience His abundant blessings.
2 Corinthians 5:7 encourages you to walk by faith and trust in God’s promises and guidance. Be reminded of the importance of faith in your Christian walk and its transformative power in your life.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to walk by faith and not by sight, trusting in Your promises and guidance for my life. Strengthen my faith, Lord, that I may rely on You in all circumstances and experience the blessings of walking in Your will. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
